Vietnam U19 women determined to win the championship

Vietnam U19 women's team and Thailand U19 women's team will play the final match of the Southeast Asian U19 women's team today (June 18). Both coaches highly appreciate each other and believe that the championship opportunity is equally divided between the two teams.

Evaluating the Thai U19 women's team in the final match, Vietnam U19 women's coach Okiyama Masahiko said: "I watched the matches of the Thai U19 women's team, especially the semi-final match against the Myanmar U19 women's team. However, due to the rainy weather, there were limitations in the analysis. The Thai U19 women's team has many good players. Their attack line has 5-6 good players who can be promoted to the national team."

The Japanese strategist also said that he was ready to compete, even in rainy conditions. “The U19 Vietnamese women's team has gotten used to the rainy weather conditions during the recent training period. We also met to find a solution. The players grasped the situation quickly and practiced very well on the field.”

When asked if the U19 women's defense has not conceded a goal but the previous challenges are not big, whether the players are confident enough to stand firm against the strong attack of the U19 women's team of Thailand, coach Okiyama Masahiko expressed: "It is true that the group stage is completely different from the semi-finals and finals. The U19 women's team will make some adjustments to the defense in the training session before the final match. The coaching staff will remind and guide the goalkeeper to stand firm against the U19 women's team of Thailand. We have experience playing against male teams and the players have played well. Hopefully, the U19 women's team of Vietnam will not concede any goals throughout the tournament."

Vietnam U19 women's team has reached the final twice and met Thailand U19 women's team but has not won either time. The Japanese coach assessed that meeting Thailand U19 women's team is a big challenge: "Last year's tournament, I did not come to Vietnam but I watched the match again and knew the result. This time, the goal of Vietnam U19 women's team is still the championship.

Of course, the opponent is the same, so the match will be very difficult. The match is not over yet, so the result is not known. But one thing is for sure, the U19 women's team of Vietnam will play their best to contribute to a beautiful match."

Coach of Thailand U19 women's team Nuengrutai Srathongvian also expressed that Vietnam U19 women's team is an excellent team and this will be a difficult match: "Fortunately, Thailand U19 women's team has no injured players and is ready for the match. Vietnam U19 women's team is a strong team, we have studied the home team carefully. Playing against Vietnam U19 women's team is an experience. The match against Vietnam U19 women's team is more than a challenge for Thailand U19 women's team".

Evaluating the defense of the U19 women's team of Vietnam, the head coach of Thailand said: "The defenders of the U19 women's team of Vietnam played very well, so that is a big challenge for us. We cannot evaluate the chances of winning, everything depends on the timing, so the chances of winning are equal.
