Australia Awards Scholarships call for applications for 2026 intake

Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international scholarships awarded by the Australian Government to the next generation of global leaders in development. Through study and research, recipients will develop the knowledge and skills to drive change and build lasting relationships between Vietnam and Australia.
According to the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, scholarship recipients will study at an Australian university of their choice in Vietnam’s priority development areas such as: agriculture, forestry and fisheries, digital transformation, information technology, education, environment, climate change, energy, governance and economic development, gender equality, disability, health, regional stability and human rights.
Applicants with disabilities and those from disadvantaged rural areas are priority beneficiaries of the Australia Awards Scholarships. Appropriate support policies will be provided to ensure equitable access to the scholarships for these applicants.

Successful candidates will be supported with English training for up to 12 months to achieve a minimum IELTS (Academic) 6.5, with no component score below 6.0 or equivalent TOEFL/PTE Academic certificate.
In addition to the Australian Government Scholarships, this year Canberra will also offer Scholarships under the Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP) program.
Recipients of this scholarship will have access to skills development programs and opportunities during their studies, thereby creating strong and lasting connections among MAP alumni in the Mekong sub-region.
The application process and online portal for the MAP scholarship is the same as the AAS scholarship.
Applicants can apply for both the Australia Awards Scholarship (AAS) and the Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP) Scholarships at the same time.
