Under the deal, Palantir will provide Ukraine with artificial intelligence (AI) tools to organize and accelerate mine clearance efforts. An estimated one-third of Ukraine’s land area is believed to contain mines or unexploded ordnance.

The Ukrainian government hopes to clear over 80% of the land that may have buried mines within 10 years, freeing up agricultural land and returning much of it to a safe state for economic use.

Palantir AI is owned by Silicon Valley tech billionaire Peter Thiel. The company's clients include governments and private companies across a variety of industries. In the government segment, Palantir is a prominent military contractor.

In another development, according to Anadolu news agency, General Oleksandr Syrsky, the new Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian army, when inspecting the Eastern front, said that the army needs to quickly reform the command personnel at the brigade level. General Oleksandr Syrsky said that he has sent experts to evaluate ineffective combat brigades before replacing the commanding officers.
