
Specifically, the vessel QNg 95209 - TS, owned and captained by Mr. Bui Duc Quang (51 years old), residing in My Tan village, Binh Son commune, Quang Ngai province, is over 19 meters long, has a power of 415 horsepower, and is engaged in squid fishing. The vessel departed on May 10th from the An Hoa Border Guard Control Station, Da Nang city, with 14 crew members on board.
On May 14th, while traveling approximately 190 nautical miles from the Ky Ha estuary in Da Nang city, the ship unexpectedly suffered a broken main engine shaft, rendering it unable to operate and leaving it adrift at sea. Following the incident, the crew contacted several fishing vessels operating in the nearby area for assistance but received no response.
The Binh Thanh Border Guard Station (under the Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard Command) and the People's Committee of Binh Son commune have reported the incident to the relevant authorities. They also requested the boat owner's family to maintain regular contact with the fishing vessel to receive timely updates on the situation and to assist in rescue efforts.
