Talking to reporters, the team leader of the construction team of the West Canal solidification project belonging to the Ap Bac - Nam Hong irrigation system, Dong Anh district said that the special feature of the project is that the unit both constructs and serves the people in irrigation, providing water for people to grow crops. Therefore, the unit will construct for a few days a month, then will have to stop to let people get water into the fields.

The construction team leader added that every time they finished getting water for the people, the unit had to wait 3 days for the surface to dry before continuing the construction. To ensure progress, the construction unit applied advanced technology from abroad to help increase labor productivity and speed up the completion of the project.
"Up to now, we have poured concrete on the entire foundation and are pouring concrete on both sides of the canal. To ensure progress, we have applied advanced technology from abroad to pour concrete on both sides of the canal. With this technology, we will be able to solidify about 100m of the canal bank each day. If I install 2 machines on both sides of the canal, we will definitely surpass the completion schedule" - the construction team leader emphasized.

Sharing about the special nature of the project when construction is carried out while irrigation is stopped, the leader in charge of the project to renovate and dredge the Hoang Dong drainage canal in Hoang Long commune, Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi, said that the project started in August 2024. After the groundbreaking ceremony, the unit started to carry out tasks such as building embankments, draining water to construct stone embankments, paving public roads, etc.
In early September, due to the impact of storm No. 3 and Hoang Dong drainage canal is the main drainage channel of the locality to Nhue river, to ensure storm prevention, the local government of Hoang Long commune requested to destroy the entire embankment to ensure storm prevention.

On October 11, after working with local authorities, the construction unit was allowed to build a dike to continue construction. Since then, the unit has actively implemented the project items according to the set schedule.
Specifically, up to this point, the construction unit has completed 100% of the stone embankment and is raising the road level from the end of the route to the beginning to roll the foundation and lay the pavement to keep up with the schedule. In addition, an excavator is still dredging and repairing the collapsed canal section.
"There are many difficulties, but we will try to complete the progress by December 2024" - the construction leader shared.
