Accordingly, to respond to storm No. 11, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires heads of educational institutions to regularly monitor the situation, promptly adjust flexible teaching plans, choose appropriate forms and proactively report to relevant levels for coordination and handling.
"Schools absolutely must not organize extracurricular activities or collective activities, especially in places at risk of flooding and landslides; establish information channels with parents to manage students when participating in local activities, minimizing risks that may occur due to storms and rains," the Department requested.

Also in the document this afternoon, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested units to closely monitor the developments of storm No. 11 and strictly follow instructions to proactively prevent, avoid, respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Based on weather and natural disaster situations, units proactively review and prepare plans and deploy disaster response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto suitable to school conditions;
Have a plan and promptly move assets, machinery, equipment, tables, chairs, records, books to a safe place to avoid damage, loss, and minimize damage caused by storms.
For units and educational institutions with boarding students, the Department requires schools to strictly manage students.
"Student movement must have close coordination between school and family to ensure absolute safety.
Schools must prepare enough drinking water, food and provisions to ensure the daily needs of students staying at school during storms and floods," the Hanoi Department of Education and Training noted.

Previously, during storm No. 10, many opinions said that the Hanoi Department of Education and Training responded slowly and did not proactively let students stay home from school to avoid floods.
Some schools quickly issued notices telling students to eat and sleep at school or to ask military vehicles to pick them up after class. Many families had to ask acquaintances to pick up their children.
Responding to Dan Tri reporter, the leader of Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the decision to suspend school on a large scale needs to be carefully considered.
Suddenly letting students stay home from school is not simple because when many families are taking their children to school or the children are already in class, it will make parents confused about finding someone to look after their children.
