Responding to storm number 3: Bach Long Vi special zone has rain and wind level 6

At 8:30 a.m. on July 21, in Bach Long Vi Special Zone, Hai Phong city, there was level 6 wind and heavy rain - Secretary of the Party Committee of Bach Long Vi Special Zone Bui Trung Tien said.

In preparation for storm No. 3, Bach Long Vi Special Zone has organized a serious on-duty team; regularly and closely monitoring the storm's developments on mass media to proactively respond. Heads of agencies, units, armed forces, and heads and deputy heads of residential areas check and prepare forces and means to mobilize for rescue when required.

Bach Long Vi Border Guard Station coordinated with Radar Station 490 to continue to contact, notify, and call on ship and vehicle owners operating on Bach Long Vi sea to urgently move their vehicles to a safe place to avoid the storm. The Special Zone Police proactively did a good job of ensuring security and order, ensuring the safety of people's property, especially vehicles on the shore of the port promenade according to the plan.

The Office of the People's Committee of the special zone coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the special zone and agencies and units to prepare accommodation at the multi-purpose stadium, ready to receive and guide people and fishermen to safely avoid the storm.

The port management board presided over and coordinated with Bach Long Vi Border Guard Station, Special Zone Police, Special Zone Military Command, and Head of Residential Area No. 2 to prepare for the evacuation of 8 households in the waterfront area of the port promenade when needed.

Localities, units and enterprises in Hai Phong city are also urgently implementing storm prevention work No. 3. Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized that this is a strong storm with great impact, therefore, storm prevention work must be highly focused. The pre-storm period is extremely important, there is not much time left, units and enterprises must focus on implementing measures to ensure safety for people and property, especially at vulnerable locations, piers, ports, port logistics areas, urgently brace and lower the height of stacked containers, cranes, guide ships and watercraft to anchor in safe shelters, ensuring safety for workers and laborers.

Localities closely monitor the storm's developments, strictly implement the direction of the Central Government and the city, coordinate regularly and closely with relevant units, ensure the implementation of the "four on-site" motto, focus on protecting vulnerable locations, construction works, aquaculture areas; have evacuation plans, ensure absolute safety of people and property before, during and after the storm.
