According to Mr. Dang Hoang Chuong, Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Department of Construction, there are 26 connection points between the former Long An province and the old Ho Chi Minh City, including 15 existing routes; 6 routes under investment are Ring Road 3 with 2 connection points with the old Long An area at 2 locations in Ben Luc and Can Giuoc areas, Ring Road 4 connecting with Long An at 2 locations in Duc Hoa and Can Giuoc areas. The remaining routes have been planned but not yet invested.

Faced with the current situation of very little road connection between Tay Ninh province and the old Ho Chi Minh City, in the agreement on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Southeast region for the period 2024-2025 in March 2023; the document giving comments on the planning of Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the two localities agreed to prioritize investment in two routes: the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway and the DT 789 route. At the same time, the two provinces also agreed to prioritize investment in two routes: the Binh Duong - Tay Ninh dynamic axis from Bau Bang to Moc Bai and National Highway 56B.
Based on the above reality, Tay Ninh Department of Construction has proposed the Provincial People's Committee to consider and coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City to prioritize investment in 9 connecting routes. Of which, the newly opened Northwest route and DT 823D route, Tay Ninh has invested and constructed DT 823D route with a length of 14.2km, a scale of 6 lanes, a roadbed of 40m wide and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Therefore, the city should soon invest in the newly opened Northwest route to synchronously connect the 2 routes.
With the extended Vo Van Kiet route and Duc Hoa dynamic axis, currently the section bordering the city is 4.7km long, 6 lanes wide, 33m wide corridor has been fully invested by Tay Ninh. The remaining section is 23.5km long with a scale of 8-10 lanes, clearing a 60m corridor is also being invested by Tay Ninh. Therefore, the locality proposed that the city soon invest in the extended Vo Van Kiet route, connecting with the above route to create an inter-regional traffic axis.
For Highway 50, the city has invested in expanding the road to 4 lanes, so Tay Ninh province proposed that the city support this locality to upgrade and expand the remaining section from the city border to Can Giuoc commune, with a length of 5.2km. Particularly for Highway 50B, Tay Ninh proposed that the city invest in the section from the border with Tay Ninh to Pham Hung Street to synchronize the route. This project has 3 bridges on Highway 827E, 6 lanes wide, and access roads to these 3 bridges.
For the route connecting Le Van Luong Street and DT 826C, Tay Ninh proposed that the city soon invest in a new Rach Roi bridge with a length of 409m and a 3km-long connecting section to the bridge to connect through Tay Ninh province. Tay Ninh will be responsible for constructing the approach road to Rach Roi bridge. For the route connecting Provincial Road 6 - Provincial Road 15 (Saigon River Road) and DT 789, Tay Ninh is currently upgrading and expanding DT 789 with a scale of 6 lanes, a road surface of 21.5m wide, the project will be completed at the end of this year. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City needs to prioritize upgrading and expanding Provincial Road 6 and Provincial Road 15 connecting with Ring Road 3 in the public investment portfolio for the period 2026-2030 with medium-term public investment capital.
For the Binh Duong - Tay Ninh dynamic axis, Tay Ninh wishes to work with the city to synchronously invest in this route in the 2026-2030 period, with a scale of 4-6 lanes, site clearance of 10 lanes, and a width of 62m. In which, the city invests in a 22.7km long section from Binh Tay bridge to Bau Bang, Tay Ninh province is responsible for building 19.6km, from DT 784 to QL22. Particularly for QL56, Tay Ninh proposes that the city invest in public investment in the 2026-2030 period for the road and connecting bridge with a length of only 0.5km to the intersection with DT 744. Tay Ninh invests in a 9.4km long section, with a scale of 4-6 lanes, and a clearance area of 31-40m.
