The sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao street, from Phu Xuan bridge to Gia Hoi bridge is under urgent construction. |
Truong Dinh and Pham Hong Thai streets are considered two routes in the city center with heavy traffic and vehicles when they intersect with Ha Noi, Le Loi and Hoang Hoa Tham streets, and connect to the area on both banks of the Huong River, so there are many tourists participating in traffic and walking. Meanwhile, the road surface is too narrow, not ensuring traffic safety as well as parking. After the survey, Hue City invested in sidewalk renovation to ensure environmental sanitation, traffic safety, expand space and landscape for the area, promote economic , cultural and social development.
Accordingly, the project will renovate the sidewalks on both sides of Truong Dinh Street with a length of 297m and the sidewalks on both sides of Ba Huyen Thanh Quan Street with a length of 53m; renovate Pham Hong Thai Street from Tran Cao Van Street to Le Loi Street with a length of 218.75m, and at the same time widen the road to ensure a 7m wide road surface. In particular, the sidewalks will be renovated with natural granite, the tree system will be relocated and rearranged to suit the design and synchronize with the urban landscape. Currently, the project to renovate the roads has been completed and put into use, with smooth traffic to meet the travel needs of people and tourists.
Mr. Tran Van Dung, a resident of Pham Hong Thai Street, said excitedly: “Before, it was quite difficult to travel through these two streets because the road surface was narrow, there were many shops and many cars parked. After the city renovated, widened the road surface and lowered the sidewalk, the road is now wide and airy, creating favorable conditions for people to expand their business and trade.”
Along with the two above-mentioned routes, Tran Hung Dao Street is also one of the city's main traffic routes with a large volume of people and vehicles. In particular, this is a route with a large number of tourists walking when visiting and shopping at Dong Ba Market, Coop.Mart Hue Supermarket as well as surrounding department stores. Meanwhile, the sidewalks of Tran Hung Dao Street are degraded and shabby, affecting traffic as well as the urban beauty of the entire route.
Faced with this situation, the People's Committee of Hue City invested in renovating the sidewalks of Tran Hung Dao Street (from Phu Xuan Bridge to Gia Hoi Bridge) to ensure environmental sanitation, traffic safety, expand space and landscape for the area, and promote economic, cultural and social development. In particular, the sidewalks on both sides of Tran Hung Dao Street from Phu Xuan Bridge to Truong Tien Bridge are 500m long and the road leading to Truong Tien Bridge is 90m long; the sidewalk on the left side of the road from Truong Tien Bridge to Phan Dang Luu Street is 400m long. With a budget of more than 12.3 billion VND, the project will pave the sidewalks, install curbs, upgrade manholes, renovate and supplement the drainage system for sections that are not guaranteed. Currently, contractors are speeding up the progress to complete it before Hue Festival 2024.
According to the leaders of Hue City People's Committee, along with the above-mentioned renovation projects, in 2024 the city will focus resources on investing in the renovation of traffic infrastructure and sidewalks of central roads to complete urban infrastructure and develop tourism and services in central areas. Currently, the project to renovate the sidewalks of Dinh Tien Hoang Street (from Mai Thuc Loan Street to Tran Hung Dao Street) and some inner-city roads is also being urgently implemented to expand the space and landscape of the area, promote economic, cultural and social development as well as complete the infrastructure to welcome tourists to Hue.
