This is considered a form of Protestantism, but the doctrine has many contents that deviate from the Bible when it claims that Mr. Park Ock Soo is the incarnation of Jesus, believes in "Saving Grace" and implicitly "is saved by God, no longer guilty when violating"...
Propagating Biblical Misinformation, Promoting a “Liberal” Lifestyle
This organization has grown to about 80 countries in the world with 178 churches in Korea, 582 churches, 29 Bible schools in other countries, and over 4,000 pastors sent to countries to teach and develop the organization. To promote the development of "Saving Grace" abroad, Mr. Park Ock Soo, through non-governmental organizations, organized life skills training courses, spiritual training programs, etc. to attract and entice young people to participate.
Since 2007, in order to develop "Saving Grace" in Vietnam, Mr. Park Ock Soo has sent Mr. Nam Jin Hyang, a Korean national, under the name of Tomorrow VietnamEducation Joint Stock Company and IYF in Vietnam to operate. By 2017, Mr. Nam Jin Hyang had attracted a number of dignitaries and followers of Protestant sects to convert to "Saving Grace". Notably, IYF in Vietnam has been licensed to operate by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. The subjects have attracted many famous scientists and intellectuals in Vietnam to participate in a number of IYF activities in Vietnam and abroad through holding seminars, visiting, traveling and attending IYF events to create a cover and expand the reputation of this organization.
The leaders of the organization "Crazy Salvation" in Vietnam focus on attracting students, young people, and dignitaries and officials of Protestant churches and groups belonging to Protestant organizations that have been recognized as legal entities to operate, with the trick of attracting them "under cover" through charitable activities, inviting them to participate in catechism training courses...
The danger of "Saving Grace" in Vietnam as well as in Korea is spreading a distorted view of the Bible, promoting a liberal, free lifestyle of the youth, especially the youth who "enjoy living in sin, do not need to repent, feel remorse when making mistakes"; causing division and division within purely Protestant organizations and sects. Orthodox Protestant organizations in Korea and other countries consider "Saving Grace" a "heresy". In Vietnam, many Protestant organizations have asked the authorities to fight against the activities of this organization like the "Church of God the Mother".
The Department of Domestic Security of Thai Nguyen Province Police said that after checking the area, they did not detect the activities of the International Youth Union and Tomorrow Vietnam Education Joint Stock Company. However, the leader and active member of the organization "Salvation Grace" had propagandized and enticed Ngo Van Phinh, former Deputy Head of the Lan Thung Protestant group, belonging to the Vietnam Evangelical Church - North (born in 1985), Mong ethnic group, residing in Dong Dong hamlet, Phuong Giao commune, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen, along with 4 other households (including father and two younger siblings) to separate from the Lan Thung Protestant group to form their own group, joining since 2014.
The subjects organized activities from 8-10pm on Wednesdays; from 8-10am and 1-2pm on Sundays; the materials used were the New Testament and Old Testament in Vietnamese and Mong, and also used the Hymn Book published by the Vietnam Evangelical Church (North). Since following "Salvation Grace", Ngo Van Phinh and some others often propagated division among other Protestant sects and spoke ill of individuals to attract followers to their group, including propagating and attracting 10 households and 48 people to participate in the activities.
Call and warn the ringleaders, mobilize people to sign a commitment to quit
"After discovering that Ngo Van Phinh was influenced by the organization "Grace of Salvation", Thai Nguyen Provincial Police directed the Department of Internal Security and Vo Nhai District Police to cordon off the area, preventing this organization from spreading to areas with Protestant compatriots; at the same time, take measures to combat the group, grasp the situation, and enlist Protestant dignitaries and followers to denounce the propaganda activities of the group to consolidate documents, serving the handling of law violations", informed Lieutenant Colonel Dao Viet Anh, Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Security of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police.
Along with regularly calling and warning Ngo Van Phinh, implementing the direction of the Provincial Police Director, the Internal Security Department coordinated with the Vo Nhai District Police to advise the District People's Committee to direct the district's departments, branches and sectors and the Phuong Giao Commune People's Committee to propagate and mobilize to eliminate the organization "Salvation Grace" in the area. The specific content was carried out in 3 stages, with the goal of having Ngo Van Phinh write a commitment to abandon the organization "Salvation Grace", operating according to a religious organization that has been recognized as a legal entity; mobilizing the affected masses to sign a commitment to abandon the organization "Salvation Grace" and prevent this organization from re-operating.
According to the Department of Internal Security, one of the difficulties in fighting this organization is that the subjects use social networks (Viber, Telegram...), set up Zoom to communicate, propagate, and develop the organization; the number of subjects in the points and groups through managing online groups to manage followers. In terms of form, preaching activities mainly take place online through applications such as Facebook, Telegram..., at the same time, there is a tendency to influence and attract followers to go abroad in the form of tourism to open training classes...
"In cases where people rarely listen to Bible teachings, members of the group will often call, ask about them, encourage them to practice their religion. In addition to preaching about religion, this organization also guides believers on how to deal with authorities when they return to their locality...", Major Tran Van Tuan, an officer of the Ethnic Security Team, Department of Internal Security, Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, informed.
The main objects of the organization "Salvation Grace" are to propagate and develop believers in ethnic minority areas, focusing on believers of Protestant organizations recognized by the State (mainly Mong people). At the same time, they thoroughly take advantage of and attract the number of Mong students who are Protestants studying in Hanoi to propagate and attract them to join the organization, then train them into core members, after returning to their localities, they will continue to propagate, attract, develop believers, and expand the scope of the organization's activities...
However, with a methodical, strategic approach, suitable for each different stage, Thai Nguyen Provincial Police have succeeded in eliminating this organization in the area when by April 21, 2024, all 10 households/48 people (100% of the affected population) following the organization "Grace of Salvation" signed a commitment to abandon and not practice illegal religious beliefs; when there is a need to practice religion, they will practice according to an orthodox religious organization, recognized by the State as a legal entity. Notably, on May 12, Ngo Van Phinh proactively met with officers of the Provincial Police and the Religious Affairs Committee of Thai Nguyen Province to seek advice on the Protestant sect, which is permitted by the State of Vietnam to operate purely in accordance with the provisions of the law.
