Van Ban organizes women's football tournament at district level for the first time

Nearly 170 athletes participated, with more than 50% being grassroots union members.

This is the first time the women's football tournament has been held at the district level.

The tournament attracted 12 teams, nearly 170 athletes from communes, towns and grassroots unions to participate; competing in a 7-a-side format.

The teams are divided into 4 groups, compete in a round robin to score points, select the first and second teams in each group to compete in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals to choose the champion team.

The organizers presented souvenir flags to the football teams.

Right after the opening ceremony, the teams competed and gave the audience beautiful, dramatic, and attractive matches with many beautiful moves and goals, receiving enthusiastic cheers from a large audience.

The athletes competed with great determination.

The 2024 Van Ban District Women's Football Tournament has more than 50% of athletes who are grassroots union members. This is a useful playground for women to exchange and share experiences in physical exercise and sports .

The tournament is scheduled to take place over 4 days: from May 23 to May 26.
