Along with other localities in the province, Van Don district has been actively accelerating the implementation of tasks immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake 2025. The locality's goal is to complete and exceed socio-economic development targets from the very first days and months of the new year, in order to practically celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and to welcome the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.
Immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday ended, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Don District signed document No. 224/UBND-NV (dated February 3, 2025) addressed to the heads of departments, agencies, and public service units under the district, and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and towns in the area, emphasizing the need to strengthen discipline, order, ethics, and public service culture. Specifically, it requested that agencies and units focus on implementing work from the first working day, especially tasks with deadlines and time limits as stipulated by law, and procedures directly related to citizens and the production and business activities of individuals, organizations, and enterprises, ensuring that no documents are overdue. They were also instructed to strictly adhere to regulations and effectively utilize working hours (7:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM), absolutely prohibiting the use of working time for personal matters or attending festivals.
Following the directives of the District People's Committee, the departments, agencies, and units under the district's authority have promptly and quickly implemented the work according to their assigned functions and responsibilities.
Mr. Ly Van Khuong, Chief of the Office of the People's Committee of Van Don District, said: After the online spring opening ceremony held throughout the province, officials, civil servants, and employees of agencies and units have started working with a sense of urgency and seriousness. There is no longer the situation where departments visit and extend New Year greetings to other departments and leave their work positions as before. Any officials or civil servants found to have violated administrative discipline, regulations, or public service ethics will be severely punished, with no exceptions or forbidden areas.
The Van Don District Party Committee's Organization Department was assigned by the District Party Committee to lead the planning and implementation of the restructuring of agencies and units in accordance with Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Central Committee and the directives of the Provincial Party Committee. To ensure the timely announcement of the decision to establish subordinate Party organizations, despite having a small number of staff, the Van Don District Party Committee's Organization Department worked diligently and seriously. All the proposals and draft decisions for the establishment of these Party organizations were completed quickly, submitted to the District Party Committee for signing and promulgation, and announced on February 5, 2025.
The Van Don District Investment and Construction Project Management Board quickly commenced the implementation of projects and works, contributing to accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025 right from the beginning of the Lunar New Year. In 2025, the Van Don District Investment and Construction Project Management Board is assigned to manage and disburse over 330 billion VND of public investment capital. Immediately after the Tet holiday, the unit's leaders held a meeting to agree on measures to lead and direct staff in organizing the disbursement of public investment capital; reviewing projects with outstanding issues and obstacles related to land clearance and land allocation procedures... to promptly propose solutions to the District People's Committee. At the same time, they informed the contractors currently working on projects and works to quickly arrange for the return of equipment, machinery, and labor to the construction sites after Tet.
Mr. Tran Quoc Viet, Director of the Van Don District Investment and Construction Project Management Board, said: The unit has directed contractors, especially those undertaking transitional projects with large workloads, to quickly reactivate construction teams on the site to resume work after Tet. Unit supervisors and consultants have been assigned to directly inspect and supervise each project on-site, promptly reporting, proposing solutions to difficulties and obstacles, and urging contractors to allocate sufficient equipment and personnel to take advantage of the dry weather to carry out construction work.
The positive signs in the implementation of work and tasks by agencies and units within the political system of Van Don district in the early days of the Year of the Snake will contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of handling and resolving work, ensuring the local economic growth target of over 2 digits in 2025, creating momentum for a breakthrough in the 2025-2030 term.
