Operating all 23/23 drainage pumping stations across the dike.

In accordance with Official Dispatch No. 07/CĐ-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee dated September 7th, the two irrigation works exploitation companies in North and South Thai Binh have opened all drainage gates in the entire system to their maximum capacity; mobilized all available means to clear waterways for drainage; and used forced pumping combined with rapid water removal to save crops flooded due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3.

Staff at the An Quoc pumping station in Quoc Tuan commune are on duty 24/7 to operate eight drainage gates in the northern communes of Kien Xuong district.

Pump station operation commenced at 2:00 AM on September 8th. By 3:00 PM on September 9th, the entire system had 23 out of 23 pumping stations operating, with a total of 177 pumps and a total capacity of 625,100 /h. Specifically, the Northern system operated 10 pumping stations with 99 pumps, including: Hung Ha (3 stations, 22 pumps), Quynh Phu (3 stations, 36 pumps), Dong Hung (2 stations, 14 pumps), and Thai Thuy (2 stations, 27 pumps); the Southern system operated 13 stations with 78 pumps, including: Vu Thu (4 stations, 26 pumps), Kien Xuong (5 stations, 30 pumps), and Thai Binh City (4 stations, 22 pumps). In addition, several inland drainage pumping stations were also put into operation to ensure flood drainage for agricultural production.

As of 7:00 AM on September 9th, the water levels at Tra Linh sluice gate were 1.15m on the land side and 1.15m on the sea side; at Nguyen Bridge, Dong Hung town, it was 1.29m; at Lan sluice gate, it was 1.30m on the land side and 1.44m on the sea side; and at Phuc Khanh, Thai Binh city, it was 1.59m.

The Quynh Hoa pumping station is currently operating at a maximum of 8 pumps with a capacity of 8,000 /h.

Following Typhoon No. 3, the entire province experienced damage to approximately 18,000 hectares of rice fields; 6,000 hectares of seasonal rice suffered 30-70% damage, and 5,000 hectares of seasonal rice suffered over 70% damage; 585 hectares of newly planted winter vegetables and unharvested summer-autumn vegetables were affected 30-70%, and 2,760 hectares of newly planted winter vegetables and unharvested summer-autumn vegetables were affected over 70%; 1,215 hectares of fruit trees were affected 30-70%, and 170 hectares of fruit trees were affected over 70%.

Currently, the two irrigation companies are continuing to update the situation, assigning personnel to be on duty 24/7 at sluice gates and pumping stations to operate at maximum capacity and urgently lower the water level in the fields to protect crops.
