Ha Tinh Rafaelson's double along with goals from Van Toan and Hong Duy helped Nam Dinh beat host Ha Tinh 4-2 in round 4, to maintain the top spot in the V-League 2023-2024 table.
Facing the home team Ha Tinh, who are thirsty for points after three rounds of only draws and losses, Nam Dinh aims to win to maintain the top spot, before facing the defending champion Cong An Ha Noi in the next round.
The away team quickly showed their strength right after the opening whistle. In the 6th minute, Rafaelson headed the ball close to the goal but could not beat Quang Tuan. But this foreign player did not have to wait too long to celebrate. In the 14th minute, Van Toan rushed up the right wing and crossed into the penalty area, Coutinho headed the ball against the crossbar and bounced out, Rafealson was there in time to cushion the ball into the Ha Tinh net, opening the score 1-0.

Having been doused with cold water, Ha Tinh pressed forward to find an equalizer, but the home team's attacks were easily neutralized by the away team's defense. After a losing first half, Ha Tinh gradually regained control of the game thanks to the aggressiveness of foreign players Gopey, Almeida, Diallo. In the 29th minute, Dinh Tien made Ha Tinh stadium explode with the equalizer 1-1. From an attack on the left wing, the former SLNA player received the ball, pushed it a bit and then fired a long shot with his left foot from a distance of more than 20 meters, leaving Nguyen Manh helpless. Excited by the equalizer, Ha Tinh pushed up their formation, playing freely for about 10 minutes after that, before being pulled back to the ground by Nam Dinh's Rafaelson. In the 43rd minute, Hendrio kicked a high corner kick into the penalty area, Coutinho rushed in to receive it, the ball fell to Rafaelson's feet, this foreign player did not miss the opportunity, tapping the ball close to the goal to increase the score to 2-1. At the end of the stands, hundreds of Nam Dinh fans who had traveled hundreds of kilometers to Tinh to cheer took the opportunity to raise flags and banners to celebrate.

From the 55th to the 77th minute, after lightning counterattacks, striker Van Toan and left-back Hong Duy scored for Nam Dinh for the first time in the V-League this season, setting the score at 4-2. The home team's sad day ended with Nguyen Dinh Son's red card in the extra minute at the end of the second half.
In round 5, Nam Dinh's top position could be shaken when they face Hanoi Police at Thien Truong Stadium. Meanwhile, Ha Tinh is stuck in the second-to-last position with 2 points, and will face the team that is also thirsty for points, the host Quang Nam.
