" When I accepted the invitation from Nam Dinh Club, I thought for a long time. I had been abroad for less than a year and still wanted to play more. However, I had some personal problems so I thought a lot. During that time, everyone advised me to return so I decided to return to Vietnam ," Van Toan shared.

The striker from Hai Duong had his first training session with Nam Dinh FC this afternoon, September 25. He said goodbye to Seoul E-Land FC even though the season has not ended. At the Korean team, Van Toan was trusted in the beginning. However, he gradually lost his position and has not been registered to play in the last 3 months.

Van Toan only played 9 matches, including 4 starts in Seoul E-Land. The former HAGL player did not score any goals in K-League 2.

" There were many difficulties. I went to another country with new culture, food, weather. In general, everything was different. I found the environment there to be more advanced and tried to integrate. However, the injury in the early stages made me catch up slower than everyone else. I'm sorry about that, but that's football. We don't know what the future holds, so we have to accept the present and move on, " Van Toan added.

The Vietnamese national team striker said he received several invitations during his time at Seoul E-Land. Among them, Nam Dinh FC was the team that repeatedly approached him. On a trip back home, Van Toan talked with his agent and the Thien Truong Stadium team. He considered carefully before deciding to leave Seoul E-Land.

Van Toan is determined to return to V-League. He said: " My goal is to win a title with Nam Dinh Club. I hope that before retiring, I will have a title to look back on my career. I am a bit jealous of my old teammates when they won titles at their new teams ."

However, Van Toan assessed that the next season will be very difficult for Nam Dinh Club. Hanoi Police Club, Binh Duong Club, Thanh Hoa Club or Viettel are all very strong. Therefore, he believes that the home team must try very hard if they want to win the V-League 2023/2024 championship.
