Opening the new trading week on September 16, the gold price today on the international market continued to break the old peak, setting a new peak when surpassing 2,580 USD/ounce. At 9:00, Vietnam time, the world gold price was at 2,581 USD/ounce, an increase of 3 USD/ounce compared to the previous session and also the highest level of the precious metal ever.
Gold prices rose ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting this week, with expectations of its first interest rate adjustment in a long time. Analysts said gold prices could continue to rise despite their recent sharp increase.
Gold prices today in the domestic market continue to increase for gold rings.
In the domestic market, gold prices also continued to set new highs for 24K gold rings and jewelry of all kinds. At 9am, the ring gold price listed by businesses was VND77.9 million/tael for purchase and VND79.2 million/tael for sale, an increase of VND100,000 per tael compared to yesterday. This is also an unprecedented level for the price of ring gold.
SJC gold bars alone remain stable at around VND78.5 million/tael for buying and VND80.5 million/tael for selling. The price of gold bars has been stable for over a week.
The above opposite developments have also helped narrow the gap between domestic and world gold prices to a record level. Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 77 million VND/tael, about 2.2 million VND/tael lower than gold rings and only about 3.5 million VND/tael lower than SJC gold bars.
