In Quang Ngai, there is an ancient volcanic crater located near the coast, approximately 30 square meters in size, which remains relatively intact and attracts many tourists.

Ba Lang An Cape (located in Phu Quy village, Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) is more than 30 km northeast of Quang Ngai city center. This place is a favorite destination for tourists because of the unique, relatively intact remnants of an ancient volcanic crater situated close to the coast.

Geological changes and volcanic eruptions millions of years ago formed the Ba Lang An cape. Scientists discovered a relatively intact ancient volcanic crater, approximately 30 square meters in size, located close to the coastline.

Inside the crater, algae, fish, snails, and other marine life thrive, forming a diverse community. Scientists estimate that this crater is at least 11 million years old.

Surrounding the crater are unique basalt rock formations, ballast columns, and lava rocks.

Viewed from above, this place possesses a captivating beauty, tinged with a touch of mystique and mystery. The turquoise blue sea playfully dances with the dark, glistening rocks, creating a truly impressive scene. Ba Lang An Cape is a famous destination that attracts many tourists who come to visit, swim, and take photos.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Sang (from Quang Ngai City) said that Ba Lang An Cape is a very pristine location with unique volcanic deposits, especially the ancient volcanic crater. The air here is fresh and cool, ideal for relaxing with family.

Besides the ancient volcanic crater, the lighthouse at Ba Lang An Cape is also an attractive tourist destination. Built in 1982, this lighthouse has undergone several renovations and helps ships operating in the Quang Ngai sea area navigate.

Ba Lang An is a headland formed from volcanic sediments that gradually slope towards the sea. From Ba Lang An, one can clearly see Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai province) with its three majestic volcanoes standing in the open sea. Ba Lang An Headland is also identified as the mainland location closest to the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands, at a distance of approximately 135 nautical miles.
