Violating regulations on State asset management, 3 defendants who have been working at Bac Lieu Lottery Company were prosecuted.

The Investigation Police Agency of Bac Lieu Provincial Police (Economic Police) has just served the Decision to prosecute the accused, the Order to search the residence and workplace, the Order to prohibit leaving the place of residence and the Approval Decisions of the People's Procuracy at the same level against the accused Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, born in 1962, residing in Hamlet 3, Ward 5, Bac Lieu city; Tran Thi Kieu Oanh, born in 1957 and Nguyen Minh Hai Duong, born in 1973, both residing in Hamlet 7, Ward 1, Bac Lieu city for the act of "Violating regulations on State asset management causing loss" as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 219 of the Penal Code.

The Investigation Police Agency of Bac Lieu Provincial Police served decisions and orders on defendant Nguyen Ngoc Thuy.

Of the three defendants who have just been prosecuted, two are now retired: Ngoc Thuy (former General Director of Bac Lieu Lottery One Member Limited Liability Company) and Kieu Oanh (former Deputy General Director of Bac Lieu Lottery One Member Limited Liability Company); while Hai Duong is currently Deputy General Director of Bac Lieu Lottery One Member Limited Liability Company.

The investigation results of the case determined that in 2010, the defendant Nguyen Ngoc Thuy - Chairman of the Board of Members of the Lottery Company (BOD); defendant Tran Thi Kieu Oanh - member; defendant Nguyen Minh Hai Duong - member had a meeting of the Board of Members to agree to issue and direct the implementation of a policy contrary to the provisions of the law, assigning the Accounting Department to collect ticket sales from agents to pay over 400 billion VND but did not immediately account for the Company's revenue but instead suspended the debt of the agents to open many savings books at banks in Bac Lieu province, thereby collecting interest of over 70 billion VND. The issuance and direction of the implementation of this policy contrary to the provisions of the law caused a loss of state assets of over 70 billion VND.

The case is currently under investigation and processing by the police.
