Why are audiences indifferent to football in the Central region?

(PLVN) - The number of spectators coming to watch a Central region club compete was only a few thousand people.

Once upon a time, the "fire pans" of Vinh city, Thanh Hoa province, Quy Nhon, Pleiku, Quang Nam... were always packed with spectators and it was very difficult to buy tickets. But now they are quiet stadiums with only a few thousand people. Spectators are indifferent because they think that the clubs now play without dedication, set high goals and only care about relegation, but the clubs think that with weak personnel and unstable economy , "playing like that is too 'bloody'".

The final round match was a "life or death" match for Binh Dinh, but Quy Nhon Stadium only had about 3,000 spectators to watch the home team play against Hanoi FC. This is an alarming number because Binh Dinh used to be a rich team, considered the "PSG of Vietnam". Just a few years ago, with a 3-year sponsorship commitment of up to 300 billion VND from the enterprise, this team thought it had become a new force in Vietnamese football when it was continuously in the top 3. Last season, they were even runner-up.

But then when "money runs out, love ends", the stars leave. The team plays to hold out for the rest of the season. After 26 rounds, they have 21 points. A sad statistic for the martial arts team that once made waves in previous seasons, now accepting rapid decline.

It took 12 years for Binh Dinh football to return to the V-League. But only 5 years later, they had to return to their 'old home': the First Division. After the province merged with Gia Lai province, it seemed that the future of the team named Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh was also very uncertain. It is not by chance that football in the Central region, from Nghe An to Khanh Hoa, is very strong in youth football and the love of football among the people. Economic life is difficult, so people rely on internal strength and passion. However, like the Mekong Delta, football in the Central region is facing the risk of becoming a "blank area" after Binh Dinh was relegated, Da Nang played the play-off, and Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Song Lam Nghe An, Quang Nam fell into the bottom group.

To put it bluntly, football in the Central region lacks motivation, human resources and money.

And not only in the Central region, football in the South is not better, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City Club are no longer attractive to the audience, even though it is a large land with the most developed economy in the country, but football is no longer an option for fans.

Hong Linh Ha Tinh, the bright spot of Central football

While football in the Central region is falling behind and the South is holding on, football in the North is still strong and shining. 3 clubs in the North share the top spots. Nam Dinh, Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police, with The Cong in 4th place.

The only bright spot in Central football is Ha Tinh, a team that has only been playing in the V.League for a few years, but Ha Tinh people have not dared to think about becoming a competitive force for the championship.
