SHB Da Nang requests to change the venue of the relegation play-off match

TPO - After the season ended, SHB Da Nang Club - the team that had to play a relegation play-off match with Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc - requested to change the competition venue to ensure neutrality and objectivity.

In the final round of LPBank V.League 2024/25, although Da Nang defeated SLNA 2-1, Quang Nam had a draw with HAGL. In the end, Quang Nam ranked 11th with 26 points, equal to SLNA in 12th place, while Da Nang ranked 13th with 25 points and had to play a relegation play-off match with First Division representative Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc.

According to the official dispatch dated June 17 of the Organizing Committee of the National Professional Football Tournaments 2024/25, the venue for the play-off match is determined to be Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC) in case the First Division representative is Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc, Vinh Stadium if it is PVF CAND. Two days later, on June 19, SHB Da Nang sent a document requesting to adjust the venue.

The Han River football team believes that "in the case of two participating clubs, one from the Central region and one from the South, it is necessary to consider organizing the tournament at a stadium with a suitable geographical location, located between the Central and Southern regions to facilitate the travel of the two teams and fans, ensuring fairness and objectivity". This proposal received no response from VPF or the tournament's Organizing Committee.

On June 23, SHB Da Nang continued to send a document requesting VPF and the tournament's Organizing Committee to consider adjusting the match's organization plan. Instead of Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC), they proposed that the play-off match take place at Quy Nhon Stadium (Binh Dinh), which "ensures geographical neutrality and creates convenience for fans of both teams, thereby increasing the attractiveness and bringing overall success to the match".

According to the schedule, the play-off match will take place on June 27, deciding whether SHB Da Nang can stay in V.League or Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc can play in the highest level of Vietnamese football for the first time.
