In the semi-finals, Vietnam B defeated Vietnam A to reach the final, while Cambodia defeated host Malaysia B. The confrontation between the two teams was highly anticipated because both Vietnam and Cambodia possess players with accurate throwing techniques and stable performance.

Entering the final match, the Vietnamese players played with determination, constantly looking for scoring opportunities in each throw. However, some situations were not handled with high precision, causing the team to lose the advantage at key moments.

On the contrary, Cambodia maintained a stable performance, effectively taking advantage of scoring opportunities to take the lead. Despite their efforts to shorten the gap, the Vietnam B women's team still had to accept a 5-13 defeat and won the runner-up position, while the Vietnam A team won the bronze medal.

Previously, the Vietnamese petanque team had an impressive performance in the technical events, bringing home 2 bronze medals in the men's technical and women's technical categories. With a total of 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals, the team completed the goal of being in the leading group in the region, although they could not reach the gold medal as expected.

The coaching staff considers this an important tournament to help athletes gain experience and hone their competitive spirit before heading to the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, where petanque will continue to be an official sport .
