Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, expressed her joy and welcomed the VKBIA delegation to visit and work in the province. She affirmed that the event is a testament to the substantial and strategic development in the cooperative relationship between Lao Cai and the Association.
Introducing the general potential and advantages of Lao Cai province after the merger, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Lao Cai currently has a natural area of 13,256 km², a population of about 1.78 million people, holding an important strategic position - an international trade gateway on the Kunming - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong economic corridor, playing an important role as a bridge in regional and international economic development cooperation.

Comrade Vu Thi Hien Hanh emphasized the four main development pillars of the province, including: mining and processing industry; border gate economy and logistics; high-tech agriculture ; and tourism with famous destinations such as: Sa Pa, Bac Ha, Mu Cang Chai, Thac Ba Lake.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also informed about the socio-economic situation in 2025 of Lao Cai province with many positive signals, the economic growth rate is estimated at 12.4%. The province is focusing on accelerating key infrastructure projects to build Lao Cai into a logistics center of ASEAN and Southwest (China). He also acknowledged the active support of VKBIA, especially the visit and support of 4 billion VND for Mu Cang Chai people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi) in October 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Tran Hai Linh expressed his joy at being in Lao Cai, a land of great potential. He affirmed that the meeting was an important step forward, strengthening the connection between the Vietnamese - Korean business community and Lao Cai province in particular.
He emphasized that VKBIA plays an important role in promoting bilateral economic cooperation between Vietnam and Korea. In the context of the increasingly strong development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, VKBIA believes that Lao Cai will become a potential and attractive investment destination for Korean enterprises, especially in the fields of green industry, high-tech agriculture, tourism and logistics - the sectors that the province is prioritizing for sustainable development.
The Chairman of VKBIA pledged to closely coordinate with the People's Committee of Lao Cai province to organize investment promotion activities, support businesses in implementing projects, promote cooperation in human resource training, technology transfer and participate in local socio-economic development programs.

Comrade Vu Thi Hien Hanh thanked VKBIA for its commitments and sharing. She further emphasized that Lao Cai is converging many new advantages, especially the strategic transport infrastructure projects that are about to be implemented, such as: airport construction, high-speed railway and upgrading and expanding the Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway. This is a great opportunity to promote the strengths of the mineral industry, agriculture, especially the tea region, medicinal plant region, high-value cinnamon region and tourism.
Comrade Vu Thi Hien Hanh especially welcomed the interest of Korean enterprises in renewable energy, which is a field that coincides with the province's green and sustainable development orientation. On behalf of Lao Cai province, she also expressed her desire to cooperate extensively with Korean universities in human resource training and cooperation in the medical field, and pledged to support and create the most favorable conditions for businesses from both sides to learn and invest.

Within the framework of the program, under the witness of delegates, Comrade Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and Comrade Tran Hai Linh - Chairman of VKBIA signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. The memorandum is the basis for the two sides to promote extensive cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, education - training and labor export, contributing to further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea.
