More than 500 people "took to the streets" to clean up the environment in Phu Nghia commune

Nearly 500 military officers, soldiers, leaders and people of Phu Nghia commune "took to the streets" to clean the environment on the morning of November 16, strengthening solidarity between the army, people and the community.

In order to strengthen the solidarity between the army, people and the community, on the morning of November 16, Phu Nghia commune organized and mobilized more than 500 people to "take to the streets" to clean up the environment. The participating forces included cadres, party members, unions, people from the villages and especially nearly 200 officers and soldiers of Division 301.

The forces were divided into 9 groups to clean up 9 routes from National Highway 6, the commune center, village roads, canals to the martyrs' cemetery. Records at many locations showed the enthusiastic spirit of the people and the army forces in enthusiastically weeding and cleaning the roads; farmers and local militia worked together to dredge canals and clear drainage ditches. On inter-village routes, soldiers of Division 301 were drenched in sweat transporting garbage and guiding people to classify it for treatment...

The leaders of Phu Nghia commune said that the environmental sanitation activities were organized on the occasion of the National Great Unity Day (November 18), aiming to promote the role of the political system and raise public awareness in preserving a green, clean and beautiful landscape. "More importantly, this is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the army and the people, creating cohesion in the community," said Chairman of Phu Nghia Commune People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Sy.

After the launch, many roads became clean and clear; drainage systems and canals were cleared; the environmental landscape changed significantly. The activities contributed to building Phu Nghia to be brighter - greener - cleaner - more beautiful, towards the goal of completing the criteria for advanced new rural areas...
