At the invitation of President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung, President Luong Cuong will lead a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the 32nd Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week and hold bilateral meetings in the Republic of Korea from October 29 to November 1.
The working trip is of great significance, demonstrating support for the APEC host country and contributing to strengthening the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
With the theme "Building a sustainable future" and three priorities of connectivity, innovation, and prosperity, the APEC 2025 Summit Week takes place in the context of rapid and complex geopolitical and geo-economic fluctuations.
In that situation, at the Conference, Vietnam will continue to contribute with a high sense of responsibility to promote APEC cooperation, promote multilateralism for peace , stability and sustainable development, affirming its role as a dynamic and responsible member in APEC.

"The President's participation in the APEC Summit Week is a step to implement the foreign policy and major policies and decisions of the Party and State, especially Resolution No. 59 of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation, continuing to make a shift in thinking and new approaches to international integration, from a receptive mindset to a proactive mindset, from integration to full and comprehensive integration, from the position of a lagging economy to the position of a rising economy, a pioneer in new fields," said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang.
On the bilateral front, President Luong Cuong’s working visit is an opportunity for Vietnam and the Republic of Korea to continue consolidating and deepening the foundation of good political relations, promoting the effective implementation of high-level commitments and agreements reached in recent times.
"With bilateral relations, Vietnam and South Korea wish to cooperate more in trade, economy, education, security, defense, technology and digital transformation. In addition, the two countries have also reached many important consensuses on regional and world issues," said Dr. Vu Xuan Khang (Asia-Pacific expert, Boston University, USA).
From proactively contributing initiatives to preparing for the role of hosting APEC 2027, Vietnam is clearly demonstrating its position as a driving force for cooperation and a development bridge in the region, working with member economies towards a connected, innovative and sustainably prosperous Asia-Pacific.
