(DN) - On October 29, the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry Bien Hoa (under the Ministry of Health) held a conference to summarize 10 years of operation (2015-2025). Attending was Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen.

Specialist Doctor II Hoang Viet Hai, Director of the Central Institute of Forensic Psychiatry in Bien Hoa, said: Over the past 10 years, the institute has overcome many difficulties and challenges, affirming its leading role in the field of forensic psychiatric examination, making an important contribution to the investigation, trial and ensuring the rights of patients with mental disorders related to the law.

At the same time, the institute is also a prestigious medical practice facility, a place to train and foster expertise for many medical staff in the Southern region. Entering a new development phase (2025-2030), the institute is determined to continue to strengthen discipline; uphold the rule of law; develop sustainable human resources; innovate and comprehensively improve professional quality.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen emphasized that in the coming time, the institute needs to continue to unite, make efforts, and excellently complete assigned tasks, affirming its solid position in the field of forensic psychiatry.

At the same time, continue to improve professional capacity, actively apply science and technology to perform tasks, and strictly comply with legal regulations. Regarding treatment, patient safety must be put first and foremost. The Institute must develop a process for forensic psychiatric assessment; a strict process for receiving and managing patients requiring compulsory treatment.

In particular, the hospital needs to continue to comprehensively rectify and restore order in the management of patients undergoing compulsory treatment, have fundamental and drastic solutions, ensure absolute security and safety for patients; perfect the process of managing patients more strictly, and strengthen coordination with relevant authorities to prevent patients from escaping from the hospital and causing disorder.
