Agreed to invest in 8 road bridges connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai

(DN) - According to the Provincial People's Committee, to enhance traffic connectivity between the two localities as well as the Southeast region, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province have agreed to invest in 8 road and bridge projects.

Accordingly, the bridge construction projects that have been agreed to be invested in include: Cat Lai, Long Hung ( Dong Nai 2 bridge), Phu My 2, Hieu Liem 2, Thanh Hoi 2, Tan Hien, Tan An and Xom La.

In particular, the Cat Lai and Long Hung bridge projects are implemented by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province. At the same time, the Department of Construction of the two localities also agreed on the route and investment scale of the projects.

Specifically, Cat Lai bridge and the road at both ends of the bridge are invested in construction with the scale of an urban main road, designed speed of 80km/h, cross-section of 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles. The project has a starting point on Nguyen Thi Dinh street (about 400m from My Thuy intersection; in Cat Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City); the end point connects to Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway (in Dai Phuoc commune, Dong Nai province). The project has a total route length of more than 11.6km, of which Cat Lai bridge is more than 3km long.

Long Hung Bridge and the two-way road at both ends of the bridge have the scale of an urban main road, a design speed of 80 km/h, a cross-section of 6 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles. The project has a starting point at the intersection with Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City at Go Cong intersection (Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh City); the end point at the intersection with National Highway 51, An Phuoc commune, Dong Nai province. The project has a total route length of nearly 12km, of which Long Hung Bridge is more than 2.3km long.

With the Phu My 2 Bridge Project, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is the project's implementing agency. The project is expected to be invested with the scale of an urban main road, a design speed of 80 km/h, a cross-section of 6 motor vehicle lanes and 2 non-motor vehicle lanes. The project's starting point intersects with Nguyen Huu Tho Street (Ho Chi Minh City); its ending point intersects with Road 25C (Dong Nai Province). The project has a total route length of nearly 15km, of which the Phu My 2 Bridge is nearly 5km long.

Regarding the projects of Hieu Liem 2 Bridge, Thanh Hoi 2 Bridge, Tan Hien Bridge, Tan An Bridge and Xom La Bridge: The People's Committee of Binh Duong Province (old) and the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province have agreed on the policy of researching and implementing the project. Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province will implement the construction of Xom La Bridge and Tan Hien Bridge; the People's Committee of the old Binh Duong Province will implement the investment in the construction of Hieu Liem 2 Bridge, Thanh Hoi 2 Bridge and Tan An Bridge. In particular, the Project of Construction of Hieu Liem 2 Bridge has been assigned by the Prime Minister to the People's Committee of the old Binh Duong Province to invest in the construction.
