The Ministry of Health requests that emergency services and treatment not be interrupted during floods.

On October 28th, the Ministry of Health issued a directive to the Departments of Health in the provinces and cities of Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai, as well as units under the Ministry of Health in the Central region, regarding the need to focus on emergency response and khắc phục the consequences of heavy rain and floods in the Central region.

The Ministry of Health requests that all units and localities strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense, and the Ministry of Health in the work of preventing and responding to floods, ensuring the safety of people according to the "four on-the-spot" principle; proactively deploy flood prevention and response work in accordance with the natural disaster developments and the practical requirements of the locality and unit.

In particular, hospitals and medical facilities should organize 24/7 professional and emergency duty shifts during floods, ready to receive and treat victims of floods; ensuring uninterrupted emergency care and treatment for the people; ensuring sufficient supply of essential medicines for the people, and promptly replenishing reserves of medicines, chemicals, supplies, and backup power equipment to be ready for use in case of isolation due to landslides and flooding.

The Ministry of Health also requested that localities and affiliated units report on the extent of damage, needs, local capacity to ensure supplies, and propose support when their capacity is exceeded, sending this information to the Ministry of Health.
