Ministry of Health requests no interruption of emergency and treatment during floods

On October 28, the Ministry of Health sent a telegram to the Departments of Health of the provinces and cities of Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang and Quang Ngai, and units under the Ministry of Health in the Central region, regarding focusing on emergency response and overcoming the consequences of heavy rain and floods in the Central region.

The Ministry of Health requests the above units and localities to strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister, the National Civil Defense Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health in flood prevention and response, ensuring people's safety according to the 4-on-the-spot motto; proactively deploy flood prevention and response in accordance with natural disaster developments and practical requirements of localities and units.

In particular, hospitals and medical facilities organize specialized and emergency services 24/7 when floods occur, ready to receive and provide emergency care to victims caused by floods; not to interrupt emergency care and treatment for people; ensure adequate supply of essential medicines for people, promptly replenish reserves of medicines, chemicals, materials, and backup power supply equipment to be ready for use in case of separation or isolation due to landslides and floods.

The Ministry of Health also requested localities and affiliated units to report on damage, needs, local support capabilities and propose support when exceeding capacity to the Ministry of Health.
