In the final match of Group B of the U23 Southeast Asian tournament, U23 Vietnam won 2-1 against U23 Cambodia. This result helped coach Kim Sang Sik and his team win the ticket to continue with the top position in the group.

In the semi-finals, U23 Vietnam will face the best second-placed team, U23 Philippines. According to the latest schedule, this match will take place at 4:00 p.m. on July 25, 1 hour earlier than the original match schedule (5:00 p.m.).

According to the explanation of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF), because both semi-finals of the U23 Southeast Asian tournament will take place at Bung Karno Stadium on July 25, the Organizing Committee has moved the match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Philippines to an earlier date to have enough time for organization if this match goes into extra time, penalty shootouts or other incidents arise. The remaining semi-final match between U23 Thailand and U23 Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. on the same day.

In the group stage, matches mainly take place in two time slots: 5pm and 8pm. Although the matches in Group A are played consecutively at Bung Karno Stadium, there is no overtime, so it does not affect the organization.

Speaking about the opponent U23 Philippines, Coach Kim Sang Sik said: “I am very happy with today's victory. U23 Vietnam won both group stage matches, thanks to the efforts of the players and the enthusiastic support of the fans. In the semi-finals, we will meet U23 Philippines. The whole team will prepare well to win.

No matter who we face, we will prepare carefully to win. U23 Philippines is the away team, which is different from facing the host U23 Indonesia. However, they are a balanced team and have naturalized players. We have carefully analyzed their playing style and will prepare accordingly."
