Quang Ninh is a locality with special geographical features with a land and sea border with China of more than 300km, with many border gates. Closely following that feature, in recent times, the Border Guard force of Quang Ninh province has always promoted proactiveness in grasping the situation in the border and island areas to advise superiors on solutions to effectively implement the task of managing and protecting border security and sovereignty . The unit also strictly builds and maintains combat readiness plans and plans, ensuring readiness to effectively handle situations, avoiding being passive or surprised. In 2024, units under the Border Guard Command of Quang Ninh province organized over 11,423 teams/54,592 officers and soldiers to patrol and control to firmly protect the sovereignty, territorial security and border areas of the sea; 5 patrols/55 officers and soldiers participated in bilateral patrols;... ensuring good management and protection of border security and sovereignty.

Along with that, in the fight against all types of crimes, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command have led, directed, and successfully organized many special projects and cases. At the same time, firmly grasping the area, taking mass mobilization as the basis, taking reconnaissance work as the spearhead to conduct investigations and detect crimes in the border area. Thanks to that, the fight against crime, smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in border areas, border gates, and seaports has also achieved many results. In 2024 alone, the Border Guard force of Quang Ninh province has successfully established 4 special projects and 8 professional plans, arrested and handled 287 cases/398 subjects/212 vehicles; of which 27 cases/39 subjects/20 vehicles were criminally prosecuted; sanctioned 246 cases/310 subjects/190 vehicles for administrative violations, handed over to the police for handling 10 cases/5 subjects; collected nearly 4.1 billion VND for the budget, the value of destroyed goods was nearly 1.6 billion VND. According to Colonel Nguyen Van Thiem, Commander of the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command, criminal activities are increasingly sophisticated, reckless and dangerous. Therefore, the drug and crime prevention and control force of the Provincial Border Guard has both improved its professional qualifications and professional training, and proactively coordinated closely with local Party committees, authorities, functional forces and people to learn and grasp the internal and external areas, especially in key areas of crime. Thereby, promptly detecting and effectively combating all types of crimes.

It is known that with the determination to protect the peace of the Northeastern border, along with the task of fighting and preventing crime, the Border Guard force of Quang Ninh province also regularly coordinates to build and replicate many models to help people develop the economy , build new rural areas, and activities in ensuring social security. Notable programs are: "Shelter for the poor in border and island areas", "Shelter for the border", "Accompanying women in the border areas", the Border Guard Station receives support to build strong and typical border villages, hamlets, and residential areas; effectively implement the programs: "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station"; implementing the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school" for the period 2021 - 2030... The above activities have contributed to strengthening the "people's border", building a close relationship of solidarity and attachment between the people and the Border Guard force to join hands to protect the national border.

In response to the requirements and tasks of managing and protecting border security and sovereignty, in the coming time, officers and soldiers of the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard will continue to promote their sense of responsibility, comprehensively implement all aspects of border work; perform well the function of advising local Party committees and authorities on building, managing and firmly protecting national border security and sovereignty. The Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command will strengthen and maintain combat readiness regimes; ensure forces and means, proactively grasp the situation, and handle situations well to avoid being passive and surprised; continue to promote the dissemination and education of laws, the Vietnam Border Law, the Fisheries Law, etc.; proactively do well in border diplomacy and people's diplomacy.

At the same time, coordinate to maintain and replicate many models to help people develop the economy, build new rural areas, and activities in ensuring social security; coordinate with forces to effectively perform the tasks of natural disaster prevention, search and rescue; strictly inspect and control people and vehicles at border gates and seaports, maintain territorial sovereignty, national border security, political security - social order and safety in border areas and border gates, build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border, create a stable, secure and safe environment, effectively serving the socio-economic development of the locality./.
