VIDEO: Coffee and the milestones in the life of the girl I love

Coffee and milestones in a girl's life.

If someone asks me: "Coffee or tea to start the day? Which drink reflects your personality?", I - a woman in my 40s who can drink both black coffee and strong tea - would always choose coffee.

In my twenties, I loved instant coffee with milk - sweet and eager like myself at that time. Sweet like first love, like a budding dream.

At 25, I switched to iced brown coffee, when I realized that life is not all about sweetness. The stronger the coffee, the more distinct the taste of life. I traveled to many places and began to realize: the French like to sip café au lait on the porch, the Koreans prefer the sweet, fatty taste, and the Vietnamese - love the deep. Like me, I gradually learned to be calmer and stronger through each challenge.

The first time I encountered an incident, I escaped from Hanoi and went to Buon Me as a refuge. In the middle of the sunny and windy plateau, I found myself in the middle of a forest of pure white coffee flowers, learning to breathe deeper and live more slowly. My best friend took me to coffee shops and the Coffee Museum - the smell of coffee mixed with the sunlight seemed to heal my soul.

Then I became a mother. There were mornings, after a long sleepless night taking care of my premature daughter with a motor disability, I made a cup of black coffee - no sugar. The bitter taste helped me stay awake, reminding me that women are flowers that can bloom in storms.

At 35, I choose to make my own coffee, to regain my figure, to cherish myself. Coffee now is not only to stay awake, but also to remember how I have grown - through each bitter and sweet drop, through the times I stood up and lived fully as myself.

I don’t drink slowly, even though I love peace. Because for me, coffee is a balance - between strong and gentle, between past and present, between the girl of yesteryear and the woman of today.

Coffee, in that way, accompanies me through every milestone in the life of the girl I love.
