Vietnam has a team of entrepreneurs of up to 10 million people.

According to the Chairman of VCCI, Vietnam currently has a team of business leaders of 2-3 million people; if including business people, the team of business people can reach 10 million people.

At the national conference of business associations and Vietnamese entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong emphasized that if businesses are the main force in economic development, then entrepreneurs are the core force playing the role of leadership, management and operation of the country's business community.

The Chairman of VCCI said that with the current number of enterprises, the team of entrepreneurs who are business leaders has reached 2-3 million people; if counting all business people and individual business households, the team of entrepreneurs can reach 10 million people.

Therefore, entrepreneurs are a special human resource of the country, playing an important role in industrialization, modernization, building an independent, self-reliant and integrated economy of Vietnam in the new period.

However, the reality of the business community is still facing many difficulties. According to a survey by VCCI, the top difficulties businesses are facing are difficulties in accessing credit, a shrinking market with difficulties in finding customers, and the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic that is still lingering.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission Do Ngoc An said that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has just officially signed and issued a new Resolution on building and developing a team of entrepreneurs in the new period, replacing Resolution 09 issued nearly 12 years ago. Specifically, in terms of viewpoint, Resolution 41 identifies the team of entrepreneurs as having an important position and role. According to Mr. Do Ngoc An, this is similar to Resolution 09 but with the addition of "being one of the core forces" contributing to promoting the cause of industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration; building and developing an independent, self-reliant economy, ensuring national defense and security. At the same time, Resolution 41 also honors and encourages a strong team of entrepreneurs with patriotism, national self-reliance, aspiration to contribute, respect for the law, contributing to the development of a prosperous and happy country. Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said that he has worked with 30 associations to listen to the difficulties, obstacles, aspirations of businesses, and feel the latest situation in the past 9 months, which will be reflected in the report of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. "It can be seen that in 2022 and the first 9 months of 2023, we still have many difficulties. We have fully summarized many difficulties such as VAT refunds, legal barriers, or conditional business sectors... Hopefully, after the meeting of the Prime Minister meeting with business people, there will be instructions for ministries and branches to continue to coordinate and create a favorable environment to support businesses," the Deputy Minister emphasized./.
