Vietnam has a national blockchain platform from central to local levels

The national blockchain platform is one of the key components of the digital national architecture, ensuring that all data, transactions and electronic certifications are authenticated and interconnected across the system.

According to the National Digital Architecture Framework announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology on October 8, 2025, Vietnam will have a national blockchain platform that acts as a shared digital infrastructure, spanning from central to local levels.

Open but secure data space

The architectural framework aims to build an open, connected and effectively shared national data space, serving digital government, digital economy and digital society, while ensuring digital sovereignty and national data security.

In particular, the group of platforms providing basic, shared infrastructure services is identified as the key technical foundation layer, ensuring that the overall national digital architecture operates synchronously, safely and effectively.

Along with data, identification and cybersecurity infrastructures, the national blockchain platform is included in the national shared digital infrastructure group, serving the functions of authentication, retrieval and unified data certification across the entire system.

This means that when ministries, branches and localities deploy digital architecture frameworks at all levels, the national blockchain will be the fundamental infrastructure component for connection, helping all data and electronic transactions to be authenticated, interconnected and centrally verified in the national data space.

With this role, blockchain is gradually becoming a strategic infrastructure of Vietnam's digital architecture, similar to the role of the Internet in the previous era.

Core infrastructure owned by Vietnam

In the overall national digital architecture framework, NDAChain is Vietnam's national blockchain platform designed as the core infrastructure for the digital economy , helping to authenticate and protect data, providing a decentralized identification system (DID), and supporting applications such as traceability, finance, and education.

NDAChain is a permissioned blockchain that is capable of fast transaction processing, high security, and easy integration with existing government and corporate systems.

The platform is a key technology initiative chaired by the National Data Center (Ministry of Public Security), under the direction of the Vietnam National Data Association (NDA). After the completion process, the system has completed the technical infrastructure, national standards and core functions.

NDAChain's architecture consists of three layers: layer 1 is the core blockchain, responsible for data authentication and preservation; layer 2 is specialized blockchain and service platforms such as NDADID, the national data exchange; layer 3 is civil and public service applications such as NDATrace, NDAKey.

As of September 2025, the platform has been running a stable test with 12 validator nodes at the National Data Center and strategic partners such as TH Group, Sun Group, MISA, VNVC, National Barcode Center (NBC)..., achieving a processing speed of more than 1,200 transactions per second and high stability.

The system has recorded more than 5 million authenticated transactions, an average of 30,000 transactions/day, demonstrating its ability to operate on a national scale.

In addition, NDAChain also announced an open API/SDK set, helping ministries, branches, localities and businesses easily connect, exploit and deploy data authentication applications on the same infrastructure.

NDAChain is the fundamental platform of digital economic applications

More than just technology, NDAChain is considered the trusted foundation of Vietnam's data economy, where all data, transactions and digital assets are authenticated, traceable and guaranteed uniformly.

The digital identification - authentication - traceability - certification (DID/VC/VP) mechanisms deployed on this platform will become the basis for digital asset applications, open data, transparent public services and trusted commerce.
