On the afternoon of December 14, at the press conference before the match between the Vietnamese team and Indonesia, coach Kim Sang Sik emphasized, “The match with Indonesia is very important in the journey at the ASEAN Cup 2024. The Vietnamese team has prepared very well, and this process does not only take place in a few days but every week, every month, up to now the whole team is very ready for the match with the goal of winning 3 points”.
Sharing about his compatriot - Coach Shin Tae Yong, Coach Kim Sang Sik said: “I have a close relationship with Coach Shin. Since we were players, we were on the same team, in the same room. He is a senior that I respect a lot. But now, we are coaches on opposite sides of the battle line. I am very proud and looking forward to tomorrow's match. This is a very important match, so I put aside all personal thoughts to achieve the best result.”

Regarding the opponent Indonesia, he said: “I watched the match between Indonesia and Laos. Indonesia has many young players so they have connections in the midfield. However, the Vietnamese team has prepared to confidently play well in tomorrow's match. Indonesia has a long journey, is tired, and is not at 100% physical strength. We will take advantage of that to pressure the opponent and win.”
At the press conference, coach Shin Tae Yong once again lamented the competition schedule of the 2024 ASEAN Cup, while emphasizing that the goal of the archipelago team is to aim for the U23 Asian Cup next year.
Regarding the match against the Vietnamese team, he said: “The Vietnamese team has a huge advantage in terms of schedule, having more rest and playing at home. They also gathered the strongest force with players with a lot of international experience. Meanwhile, Indonesia cannot bring the best force, partly because the ASEAN Cup 2024 is not part of FIFA Days. We only bring very young players, many of whom are U17, U20, U23 and do not have much experience. I think this is a good experience for the whole team to improve and enhance their skills. Going through a difficult journey is also an opportunity for them to hone their mettle and demonstrate their ability to overcome difficulties. Our goal is to prepare for the U23 Asian Cup next year.
However, we still have other excellent players ready for the challenges and the whole team will try our best for the match against the Vietnamese team."
According to the schedule, the match between the Vietnamese team and the Indonesian team will take place at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (December 15) at Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho province./.
