More than 23,000 bird's nest products identified as counterfeit

On June 19, information from Market Management Team No. 7 (Phu Tho Market Management Department) said that based on the testing results of the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene for 8 samples of bird's nest products produced and traded by Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited, the unit determined that all previously detained bird's nest products were counterfeit.

Market Management Team No. 7 conducted a working record with the representative of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited, with the participation and coordination of the representative of the Department of Health; Economic Police Department, Provincial Police.

According to the test results, all 8 samples of stewed bird's nest did not meet the main quality criteria compared to the self-declared product of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited (located in Thanh Son town, Thanh Son district). The protein content in the product only reached 18 - 58% compared to the declaration, the lipid content only reached about 3% compared to the declaration.

Based on this result, Market Management Team No. 7 determined that more than 23,000 previously seized bird's nest products of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited were counterfeit goods, with the value of the infringing goods determined to be more than 900 million VND.

Identifying signs of violation of the regulation “Production and trading of counterfeit food, foodstuffs, and food additives”. Market Management Team No. 7 has transferred the entire case file and evidence of the violation to the Economic Police Department, Provincial Police to continue investigating and handling according to regulations.
