On the morning of June 9, the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) held the drawing ceremony for the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship in Hanoi .
As the host of Group A ( Hai Phong ), the Vietnamese women's team is in the same group with Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia. Group B (Viet Tri) is considered an equally interesting and fierce competition between opponents Philippines, Myanmar, Australia and Timor Leste.
The teams will compete in a round robin format to determine the top two teams in each group to advance to the semi-finals, which will take place on August 16. The third-place match and the final will take place on August 19.

At the draw ceremony, Major General Khiev Sameth – President of AFF expressed: "We are particularly proud of the historic milestones that ASEAN teams have achieved in recent years – such as Vietnam, Philippines, Australia and Thailand at the most recent World Cups, as well as the strong rise of football nations such as Cambodia and Timor-Leste at both youth and senior team levels.
This year’s tournament is not just about hosting a quality tournament – it is also about inspiring a generation of young girls across ASEAN: to dream bigger, aim higher, and compete with courage and pride.”

In the role of host, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that as the host country, VFF is committed to closely coordinating with AFF and relevant parties to successfully organize the tournament; spreading the beautiful image of women's football in the region in general, and Vietnamese women's football in particular, to international friends, while introducing an open, friendly and sincere Vietnam.
