Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the First Secretary and President of Cuba to pay a State visit to Vietnam and attend activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, right on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations, demonstrating the brotherly and comradely sentiments and the valuable solidarity and support of the Cuban Party, State and people for the Vietnamese people.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always treasures and preserves the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, which has been cultivated by many generations of leaders of the Party, State and people of the two countries. The Prime Minister believes that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the brotherly country of Cuba will continue to firmly defend the achievements of the Revolution and gain new victories in the cause of national construction and development.
On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the First Secretary and President of Cuba met with Vietnamese businesses to discuss and promote trade and investment cooperation.
On the same day, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam always stands shoulder to shoulder, accompanies and supports the revolutionary cause of the Cuban people.
Earlier, on the morning of September 2, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Politburo Standing Committee member and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji. The Prime Minister asked China to continue prioritizing railway cooperation, providing preferential loans, technology transfer, human resource training, and striving to start construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in 2025.
At a meeting with President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen on the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives high priority to consolidating and developing good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability with Cambodia. The two leaders agreed to actively promote the historical value of the traditional neighborly friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as the three countries of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
