Heavy rain in Hanoi , many people give up tickets before G hour
The capital Hanoi was affected by the circulation of storm No. 5, with prolonged heavy rain causing widespread flooding. The rain that did not stop since the afternoon of August 15 caused traffic chaos in many places. On the morning of August 26, many people could not get to work on time. The distance of more than 10 km had to be traveled for more than 4 hours.
In Dong Anh, where the concert Vietnam in me took place on the evening of August 26, flooding was also recorded on many roads.
At around 8am on August 26, according to local residents, a long line of cars from Dong Anh were lined up on the bridge to the inner city. On the other side of the bridge, Vo Chi Cong Street was heavily flooded, making it impossible for vehicles to move. Ms. Hoang Lien, who lives in Dong Anh (Hanoi), said that the area of Phuong Trach Street, nearly 10km from the concert venue, was knee-deep in water.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, during the day and night of August 26, Hanoi will have cloudy weather with moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, and locally very heavy rain. Southeast wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
As of the afternoon of August 26, the organizers of the Vietnam in Me concert had not yet made any announcement regarding the postponement or rescheduling of the event. Ticket sales were still active on forums. A spectator transferred 4 tickets in the Independence area near the stage for 400,000 VND/ticket. Spectator Tuan Minh (Hanoi) said he had 2 tickets to transfer, but was wondering how to "advertise" the price. Many viewers said that with the current weather conditions, it would be difficult to transfer tickets for over 1 million VND.
In addition, many people also expressed their concern and wished that the organizers would soon make an official statement about the concert cancellation due to the storm. "I hope the show will be postponed to another day, the rain is not stopping, the traffic situation is too congested due to flooding!", "I hope the organizers will soon update the show situation tonight so that the audience can proactively plan their travel", "I'm so impatient! The organizers should speak up soon"... are comments from the audience on social networks about the show.
Concert Vietnam in me still takes place tonight
Previously, at around 12 noon on August 26, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Electronic Information Portal announced to the audience that the concert Vietnam in Me would still take place as planned.
"According to the information we have updated, the Vietnam in Me concert is still taking place tonight. However, if bad weather directly affects the organization and makes it difficult for the audience to get to the venue, the organizers will make an official announcement as soon as possible this afternoon if there are any important changes. Sincerely!", the announcement on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Electronic Information Portal stated.

On the evening of August 25, the artists of the concert Vietnam in me were still enthusiastically practicing and putting together the stage in the rain. The program was directed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), organized by the Hanoi Opera House, bringing together a group of young artists loved by the public such as: Soobin Hoang Son, Hoa Minzy, Erik, Duc Phuc, Anh Tu, Quan AP, Duong Hoang Yen and the band Chillies.
With more than 20 elaborately staged performances, the music night led the audience through three parts: Nam trong toi is a lullaby of memories , Vietnam trong toi is the journeys , Vietnam trong toi is a magical land . The organizers said that the songs in the program both evoke historical milestones and have a modern, youthful vibe. Familiar hits are given a new look, combining traditional music and modern arrangements, promising to bring a different experience to the audience.



Also during the rehearsal on the evening of August 25, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong was present to direct and encourage the artists. Here, the Deputy Minister not only listened and gave comments on each performance but also encouraged the spirit of solidarity and efforts to overcome difficulties of the artists, technicians and organizing committee.
"The program Vietnam in Me is not simply a music night, but an important political and cultural event in the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day. I request the entire crew from content, artists to technicians to make every effort to ensure that the program is both artistically attractive and conveys a profound message about history, solidarity and national pride," Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong directed.




The organizers of the Vietnam in Me concert also announced to organize a fundraising program to share with the people of Central Vietnam. Accordingly, overcoming the unfavorable weather, the Vietnam in Me concert was still held to promote the spirit of Vietnam in Me: pride, patriotism, sharing, mutual love and affection.
The organizers emphasized that the music in today's concert is not only art, but also a thread connecting millions of hearts, beating together with the same beat of love for the homeland and solidarity with fellow countrymen.
"Let's create a concert of compassion and solidarity - a fine tradition of the nation. Tonight's concert is a reminder that no matter how difficult it is, Vietnamese people always know how to stand together, overcome storms, so that a proud and loving Vietnam will always shine in our hearts," the program's organizers announced.
