Accordingly, the number of international searches for Vietnam tourism from the beginning of the year until now has achieved a growth rate of about 10% - 25%, ranking 7th in the world. In particular, the markets that are searching the most for Vietnam tourism are the US, India, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, UK, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong.
Vietnam ranks 7th in the top 10 fastest growing destinations in the world
In Southeast Asia, Vietnam is the only country in the top 10, while other countries in the region such as the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia are all in quite far positions at 18th, 25th, 36th, 37th, and 39th, respectively.
In terms of international visitors’ search demand in Vietnam, the cities in the top 10 are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet and Hue. Meanwhile, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh are the two destinations that recorded the highest growth with an increase of over 75%.
According to the assessment, the factors that contribute to helping Vietnam become one of the top favorite destinations for international tourists include the diversity and attractiveness of its products, from cultural, natural, island, and city tourism, to new products such as agricultural, railway, health care, and sports tourism, etc.
In addition, efforts to invest in developing synchronous and modern infrastructure; connecting traffic on air, road and sea routes; expanding direct flights connecting major cities in the world with Vietnam... have created advantages, becoming a notable highlight for international tourists with travel needs.
The ease of movement and policies, especially visa and immigration policies, are considered bright spots and become decisive factors in the choices of international tourists.
According to the latest report, in the first 4 months of 2025, the tourism industry welcomed over 7.6 million international visitors, an increase of 23.8% over the same period last year. Currently, the tourism industry is focusing on implementing campaigns to promote and advertise Vietnamese tourism abroad.
On May 3, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism organized a program to launch the Vietnamese tourism market in France, Italy, and Switzerland. The event will last until May 14. It is expected that this year, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will organize 7 large-scale programs to introduce Vietnamese tourism abroad, with the participation of many localities and businesses to promote the image and brand, attract international visitors to Vietnam, contributing to the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors, contributing to the implementation of the Government's target of 8% GDP growth this year.
