On the afternoon of July 17, Vietnam Airlines announced that due to the impact of storm No. 1 (international name Talim), Vietnam Airlines will adjust the operation plan of flights to and from Hai Phong and Van Don airport on July 18, 2023.
Specifically, on July 18, Vietnam Airlines canceled flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong including: VN1184, VN1185, VN1173, VN1174; between Da Nang and Hai Phong including: VN1672, VN1673.
The airline postponed the departure time of VN1176 Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong, from the old departure time of 18:25 on July 18 to the new departure time of 03:45 on July 19; postponed the departure time of VN1174 Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong, from the old departure time of 16:55 on July 18 to 19:50 on the same day; postponed the departure time of VN1175 Hai Phong - Ho Chi Minh City, from the old departure time of 18:55 on July 18 to 22:00 on the same day.
The airline also moved up the departure time of flight VN1179 from Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City, from the original plan of 6:35 a.m. on July 18 to 11:00 p.m. on July 17.
Storm No. 1 also affected Van Don airport (Quang Ninh), however, Vietnam Airlines had no flights to Van Don airport on July 18.
Vietnam Airlines hopes for the understanding of passengers in case the flight plan must be changed due to weather conditions to ensure absolute safety. Vietnam Airlines will implement procedures to support passengers according to current regulations.
Vietnam Airlines added that based on the assessment of weather and airport conditions, in the coming days Vietnam Airlines will increase flights and use wide-body aircraft to support affected passengers.
Vietnam Airlines will continue to monitor the weather and update in the following bulletins. The impact of storm No. 1 may be prolonged, the airline recommends that passengers planning to travel to and from airports affected by storm No. 1 regularly monitor and update the weather and information from Vietnam Airlines.
