Vietnam ESG Awards: A boost for the journey of sustainable business development

On April 23, Dan Tri newspaper successfully organized the first Vietnam ESG Forum with the theme "Sustainable development strategy in the new era".

The event brought together representatives of management agencies, experts, and the business community to exchange and discuss ESG practices in Vietnam, while honoring pioneers in the journey of sustainable development through the first Vietnam ESG Awards ceremony.

At the first ESG Forum on the afternoon of April 23, journalist Pham Tuan Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam ESG Forum, said that in addition to other activities and events, the Vietnam ESG Awards is an important highlight of the first Forum. "The Vietnam ESG Awards is expected to become one of the prestigious ESG honors in Vietnam," he said.

The titles are intended to honor businesses and units with outstanding achievements in implementing ESG criteria, including environment, society and governance. "This is an activity to help businesses expand opportunities for cooperation, sharing and learning from each other," said journalist Pham Tuan Anh.

Among more than 150 valid applications submitted to register for the first Vietnam ESG Awards, the first Vietnam ESG Awards Judging Council selected 31 titles to honor in 4 categories: ESG Pioneer, Environmental category, Social category, Governance category, Comprehensive ESG with Top 10 excellent ESG implementation units.

Vietnam ESG Awards: A solid mark for sustainable development

Ms. Pham Thi Quynh Vi - Director of Quality of FPT Corporation - said that being honored as a pioneer in ESG management strategy is something that makes FPT both surprised and proud. Being awarded this title is a source of motivation for the enterprise to continue to improve its management capacity, bring better customer experience, and at the same time make more positive contributions to the community and stakeholders.

The representative of FPT Corporation also emphasized that one of the prerequisites for the corporation to be able to sign contracts worth millions of USD with foreign partners is to meet ESG standards related to the environment, society, gender equality and sustainable governance. Therefore, ESG is identified as an important part of FPT's long-term development strategy.

From another perspective, Mr. Le Tien Dinh - Sales Director of Mobile World Group (MWG) - commented that Vietnam ESG Awards has many meanings for businesses. In particular, Mobile World is one of 10 units honored in the Comprehensive ESG category.

According to him, the honor shows the group's efforts and commitment to accompany the Government's ESG policies and orientations, as well as recognition from customers and domestic agencies. This is a great motivation for Mobile World to continue its development journey associated with ESG in the coming time.

Mr. Vo Van Huy Hoang - Director of Strategy and Digital Transformation, Vinasoy Vietnam Soymilk Factory - a branch of Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company - expressed his opinion that the first Vietnam ESG Forum is a strong "push" for the sustainable development trend of enterprises.

According to him, ESG is increasingly becoming a core competitive factor and is consistent with Vinasoy's agricultural nature. The fact that the enterprise was honored as a Pioneer in Sustainable Resource Management is a testament to its long-term commitment to a responsible operating strategy.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Trung - General Director of Japan Small and Medium Enterprise Development Joint Stock Company (JSC) - also commented that being honored at the first Vietnam ESG Awards as an Innovative Enterprise in Transparent Governance Practices is a meaningful recognition for JSC.

He believes that, especially in the industrial park and factory sector, building ESG reputation will be a competitive advantage in attracting businesses, especially FDI enterprises, when environmental factors and sustainable development are being focused on globally.

In the field of renewable energy, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - General Director of TTP Phu Yen Joint Stock Company (under B.Grimm Power Vietnam Group) shared that the title of Enterprise with ESG strategy representing sustainable development is a profound and timely recognition of the enterprise's long-term efforts.

According to him, ESG is not just a set of criteria but has become a foundation throughout all activities, from internal culture, technology selection to contributions to local communities.

Greenfeed Vietnam is also a bright spot in the ESG model of the food and agriculture industry. Mr. Pham Tuan Anh - Director of Sustainable Development of this company - said that the company being honored with the title of Sustainable Supply Chain Management Model has given great motivation for Greenfeed Vietnam to persistently pursue a long-term sustainable development strategy.

He emphasized that this is a recognition of the values that Greenfeed has been, is and will continue to build on the ESG journey.

The story of Detech Coffee continues to clearly illustrate how ESG can go hand in hand with business performance and social responsibility. Mr. Dao Viet Phuong - Deputy General Director, in charge of Brand Communications and Sustainable Development - shared that the title of Pioneer Enterprise in Sustainable Human Resource Development is a great source of motivation for the company.

This title recognizes the company’s efforts in building a responsible and humane Vietnamese coffee brand. He said that Detech Coffee is realizing its ESG commitment through compliance with international standards such as Rainforest Alliance, 4C, as well as initiatives in regenerative agriculture, solar energy and enhancing the role of ethnic minority women.

Sharing with reporters on the sidelines of the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Binh - General Director of Super Truong Phat Plastic Group Joint Stock Company (STP Group) - said that for STP Group, ESG is a key strategy to help businesses go far.

Vietnam ESG Forum 2025 focuses on science and technology
