Vietravel Airlines has just successfully operated the first charter flight connecting Hanoi with Huangshan (China).

By implementing this series of charter flights from Hanoi to Hoang Son, Vietravel Airlines has marked an important and flexible strategic step in the process of approaching, evaluating and exploiting the potential Chinese market.

On the afternoon of October 10, Vietravel Airlines flight number VU1236 took off from Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) at 4:50 p.m. and landed safely at Dong Khe Hoang Son International Airport, Hoang Son (China) at 8:45 p.m. (local time), with more than 180 passengers on a journey to explore famous Chinese attractions.

On this special flight, in addition to the usual service experience on flights, passengers are also introduced to tea making demonstrations and enjoy Hoang Son Mao Phong tea. This is how Vietravel Airlines demonstrates its own service philosophy: bringing local culture into the flight experience, making each flight not only a journey but also a bridge of cultural exchange between countries.

According to the General Statistics Office, after 9 months of 2025, the two markets of China and South Korea contributed nearly 50% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. China is currently the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam with more than 3.89 million arrivals and Vietnam is also one of the largest foreign markets with the number of visitors to China for many years.

A representative of Vietravel Airlines said that this is a proactive move to open the door to connections, not only bringing unique travel experiences to visitors but also demonstrating the airline's vision in capturing market demand and testing new routes. The charter flight to Huangshan is a testament to Vietravel Airlines' ability to adapt quickly and its strong commitment to developing international routes, especially in the Chinese market.

Following the success of this charter route, in the coming period, the airline plans to expand connections to three strategic markets including Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen, gradually building an international flight network in parallel with the strong recovery trend of two-way tourism between Vietnam and China.

Since the end of 2024, T&T Group has officially become a strategic shareholder of Vietravel Airlines, opening a new development phase with a long-term, professional and sustainable orientation for the airline. The companionship of T&T Group with an ecosystem spanning logistics, aviation, infrastructure, energy, real estate, finance-investment, etc. has helped Vietravel Airlines improve its competitiveness, shift from a leasing model to owning aircraft, be proactive in operating plans and optimize operating costs.

Vietravel Airlines plans to launch two new domestic routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa, and resume the Hanoi - Nha Trang route. At the same time, it will operate a series of charter flights connecting Hanoi - Anhui (China) from October 2025.

The airline is also actively promoting negotiations with aircraft manufacturers and international airlines to realize its plan to expand its fleet and flight network. By 2030, the airline's fleet size will reach 30-50 aircraft, with a flight network covering Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and the Middle East.

To realize its growth targets, Vietravel Airlines has approved a plan to increase its charter capital to VND2,600 billion. This financial resource is to meet the need to strongly expand its fleet and scale of operations in the coming time; at the same time, it will be invested synchronously in modern exploitation technology systems, maintenance technical facilities and especially in training high-quality human resources - a key factor in the airline's sustainable development strategy.

This first charter flight to China is not only a journey to open a new route, but also the beginning of Vietravel Airlines' regional expansion strategy, realizing the goal of becoming the leading green, professional, modern and sustainable airline in the region.
