Vinaphone commercializes 5G in Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - On December 20, within the framework of the 2025 Plan Implementation Conference, VNPT Group officially announced the provision of VinaPhone 5G service.

Operating on the 3,700-3,800MHz band, VinaPhone 5G brings actual commercial Internet speeds of up to 1.5Gbps, 10-20 times faster than 4G.

VinaPhone 5G uses the world 's latest 5G standard 64T64R Massive MIMO & Beamforming; advanced chipset (5nm); architecture platform combining 5G NSA and 5G SA, aiming for 5G Advanced.

At the time of official service provision, VinaPhone 5G covers 63 provinces and cities nationwide, focusing on coverage and service provision in key socio-economic areas such as District/County Administrative Centers, industrial parks, seaports, airports, schools, hospitals, and tourist areas.

For traditional telecommunications services such as voice, voice quality on the 5G platform also increases by 20% compared to 4G. All VinaPhone subscribers with 4G SIMs and 5G phones will be provided with the service when operating in 5G coverage areas without having to register for new 5G packages.

For economic sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, education, finance, energy, etc., VinaPhone 5G has prepared a series of solutions such as Private 5G Network, Network Slicing, Open RAN 5G to support organizations and businesses to create breakthroughs in operational management, which is the foundation to promote digital transformation of enterprises and develop the digital economy and digital society.

Currently, Vinaphone offers a number of 5G packages such as VIP199 priced from VND199,000/month. In addition, users can also choose higher service packages such as VIP249 or VIP349.

In addition, VinaPhone 5G also aims to continue to be more widely covered in 2025 and soon cover 85% of the population in the near future.

Previously, in mid-October, Viettel commercially deployed 5G waves to users in 63 provinces and cities. Viettel's 5G network is deployed simultaneously on both 5G NSA and 5G SA architecture platforms.
