Attending the Congress were: Mr. Tu Minh Phuc - Director of the Provincial Department of Home Affairs; Mr. Luong Van Pho - Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors and armed forces stationed in Bac Lieu province and 150 official delegates representing more than 10,500 ethnic minorities in Vinh Loi district.

According to the report at the Congress, in the period of 2019 - 2024, the implementation of ethnic work and ethnic policies in Vinh Loi district has been focused on and achieved many positive results. Implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minorities - 2019, the rural appearance of ethnic minority areas has increasingly improved; the political system at all levels has been consolidated and improved, operating effectively. The rate of poor and near-poor ethnic minority households has been reduced, specifically from 152 poor ethnic minority households to 33 households (accounting for 1.41%).

Implementing programs and projects, infrastructure in areas with a large number of ethnic minorities has been invested in and built solidly and firmly. Ethnic minority communes have been accessible to cars; inter-commune and inter-hamlet roads and densely populated areas have been paved with asphalt and concrete. Over 99% of households in the area have access to national grid electricity and clean water, creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of ethnic minority areas.

The cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities are preserved and promoted.Education , improving people's knowledge, training human resources, and healthcare are invested in. Political security and social order and safety in ethnic minority areas continue to be stable. The great national unity bloc is consolidated and strengthened.

Mr. Luong Van Pho - Deputy Head of the Ethnic and Religious Committee of Bac Lieu province spoke at the Congress

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Luong Van Pho - Deputy Head of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of Bac Lieu province praised the achievements and results that the Party Committee, government and ethnic people of the district have achieved in the period of 2019 - 2024. The results achieved by the district have contributed significantly to the overall socio-economic development of the province.

To continue successfully carrying out the tasks in the coming time, Mr. Luong Van Pho suggested that delegates should continue to study and thoroughly grasp the Party's viewpoints and policies on ethnic affairs stated in the Resolution of the 7th Congress of the Party Central Committee (9th tenure). Proactively and creatively carry out effectively ethnic affairs and ethnic policies in the locality, especially in implementing the National Target Program 1719, while integrating programs suitable to the actual conditions of each locality and each ethnic group.

Elected delegates to attend the Provincial Congress

“Continue to exploit the potential and advantages of the district, promote internal strength, mobilize resources, promote investment attraction, develop socio-economy, further improve the material and spiritual life of the people; mobilize many resources for investment, development and support for areas with a large number of ethnic minorities, contributing to increasing income, improving the quality of life, self-reliance, self-reliance to escape poverty sustainably”, Mr. Luong Van Pho emphasized.

With the theme "Ethnic groups unite, innovate, promote advantages, potentials, integrate and develop sustainably", the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Vinh Loi district set out goals, tasks and solutions to effectively implement ethnic policies for the period 2024 - 2029.

In addition, the Congress negotiated and elected 20 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the upcoming Provincial Congress.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 5 individuals; the Provincial Ethnic and Religious Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 6 individuals; the Chairman of the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies in the period 2019 - 2024.
