VN-Index increased for the third consecutive session

On July 18, VN-Index increased by more than 7 points, marking the third consecutive session of increase.

In the afternoon session, the market was mostly green, with a few times the market fell. Overall, increased demand helped the market gain quite well.

At the end of the session, VN-Index stopped at 1,497.28 points, up 7.27 points (0.49%); VN30-Index reached 1,643.91 points after gaining 9.21 points (0.56%). This is the third consecutive session the market has gone up.

Unlike the end of the morning session, the number of stocks increasing in price dominated. The market recorded 171 stocks increasing and 147 stocks decreasing. In the VN30 group, the number of stocks increasing and decreasing in price were 19 and 11 respectively.

In the afternoon session, banking stocks performed more positively and provided strong support to the market. Of the 10 stocks contributing the most to the VN-Index, 5 were in this group: TCB, STB, VPB, LPB and MBB, of which TCB provided the strongest support to the market with 1,855 points.

The stock group also performed outstandingly, with VIX hitting the ceiling, joining the group of stocks that strongly supported the market.

With increased demand, the number of industry groups that increased points was more dominant than those that decreased.

Liquidity was high with nearly VND36,000 billion changed hands. Foreign investors traded strongly. This group bought nearly VND3,158 billion and sold approximately VND3,260 billion.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, at the end of the session, the HNX-Index increased by 1.68 points (0.68%), to 247.77 points; the HNX30-Index reached 525.32 points, up 10.90 points (2.12%). The total transaction value reached 3,300 billion VND.
