Swan Lake Ballet - HBSO's new landmark

After two sold-out performances of Swan Lake (photo) by the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) has scheduled new performances, tentatively scheduled for November 8 and 9, to meet the needs of audiences who want to fully enjoy the classic ballet, performed in its entirety for the first time in Vietnam.

Swan Lake, composed around 1875-1876, is one of the world's classic ballets, one of the pinnacle works of the world-famous composer Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky's romantic and tragic musical melody contributed to the work's great success and made it one of the world's masterpiece ballets.

Swan Lake has 3 acts, revolving around the love story between Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette, a tragic and dramatic love story, filled with passion and betrayal. Notably, in Act 3 of the play, the Black Swan Odile will perform 32 extremely difficult fouetté turns, a turn with skillful technique, charisma, captivating audiences of all ages.

The Swan Lake ballet was invested in and staged by HBSO with the participation of Norwegian choreographer Johanne Jakhelln Constant, artistic director - conductor Le Ha My, with the cooperation and professional support of Ho Chi Minh City Dance College, Sasa Ballet School, talented young artists of HBSO Ballet Troupe and the delicate harmony of HBSO Symphony Orchestra. As one of the pinnacle performances of ballet art, Swan Lake requires a high level of performance organization capacity, artist and actor qualifications. And to bring the complete performance, the artist team has made efforts to overcome many difficulties in human resources, strict requirements in training techniques, and performing difficult movements. From there, demonstrating synchronization in the grand, large-scale performances and skillful techniques.

In Swan Lake, young artist Do Hoang Khang Ninh transformed into the white swan Odette, young artist Le Duc Anh played the role of Prince Siegfried, both of them created beautiful ballet colors with a magical fairy tale. In particular, the harmonious coordination of the guest artist, Japanese female artist Chika Tatsumi (Black Swan Odile), and HBSO artists created a highlight and special attraction for this ballet with a special performance: performing 32 extremely difficult classic fouetté turns, making the auditorium of the City Theater explode in every performance.
