The US market continues to be the largest destination for Vietnamese pepper, accounting for 31.7% of total export volume, equivalent to 2,865 tons.

According to the latest data from the European Statistical Office (Eurostat), in the first eight months of this year, the European Union (EU) imported 89,036 tons of pepper from markets outside the bloc, reaching a value of 617.9 million EUR.

Although import volume decreased slightly by 1.1%, the value increased by 42.6% compared to the same period last year, clearly reflecting the scarcity of global supply and sustainable consumption demand in major markets. World pepper prices are in a strong recovery phase, gradually establishing a new price level higher than the past two years.

In the EU's import structure, Vietnam continues to maintain its position as the largest pepper supplier outside the bloc, accounting for 64% of total imports, equivalent to 56,989 tons. Although the export volume to Europe decreased by 4.5% compared to the same period last year, Vietnam still outstrips other competitors in terms of market share.

Following Vietnam is Brazil, with 14,726 tons (accounting for 16.5%) – up 5.1% over the previous year. Indonesia reached 6,484 tons, up 10.7%, and India supplied 4,124 tons, down 9.8%. These figures show that despite increased competition, Vietnamese pepper prices are still popular thanks to stable quality, abundant supply and a professional export system.
