Domestic pepper prices increased slightly in many localities.
The pepper price market on the morning of October 21, 2025 showed signs of improvement when many localities recorded a slight increase compared to the previous trading session. As of 5:00 a.m., the average pepper price in key areas reached 145,400 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak and Dak Nong, pepper prices today reached 146,000 VND/kg. In Binh Phuoc and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , pepper prices increased slightly to 145,500 VND/kg. In Gia Lai, pepper prices are currently being purchased at around 144,000 VND/kg.
Thus, the domestic pepper price level has seen a small improvement, strengthening the confidence of pepper growers after a long period of stable market at low levels. Many purchasing agents predict that the upward trend may continue if export demand is boosted at the end of the year.

World pepper prices remain stable, Indonesia increases slightly
According to the International Pepper Association (IPC), world pepper prices on the morning of October 21 continued to maintain a stable trend with a slight increase in some major markets.
Specifically, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper was traded at 7,230 USD/ton, up 0.03% compared to the previous session. The price of Muntok white pepper of this country also increased accordingly, reaching 10,088 USD/ton.
In Malaysia, pepper prices remained unchanged, with ASTA black pepper remaining at $9,500 per ton and ASTA white pepper at $12,500 per ton. In Brazil, pepper prices remained around $6,100 per ton, unchanged from yesterday.
IPC experts assess that the stable world pepper price is the result of the balance between supply from major producing countries and stable consumption demand in the US, Europe and the Middle East.
Vietnam's pepper export prices remain high. According to the latest update, the export price of 500g/l black pepper is currently at 6,400 USD/ton, 550g/l is at 6,600 USD/ton, while the price of white pepper is being traded at 9,050 USD/ton.
Vietnam’s pepper export market continues to receive positive signals from major partners such as India, the Middle East and Europe. With stable international pepper prices, domestic enterprises are stepping up purchasing activities to serve export demand at the end of the year, the peak consumption period.
Analysts predict that pepper prices may continue to increase slightly in the coming time when import demand recovers, while new supply is not really abundant. Vietnam is expected to benefit greatly from this trend, especially when the quality of domestic pepper prices is increasingly improved and meets international standards.
If the US dollar remains weak and logistics costs remain stable, Vietnam’s pepper export prices are likely to continue to increase, helping farmers and exporters improve profits in the final months of 2025.
Pepper prices are therefore becoming a bright spot on the agricultural map, both a positive signal for growers and creating new momentum for Vietnam's agricultural export industry.
