According to Vietnam Airlines , on the morning of October 19, shortly after takeoff, a 52-year-old Filipino passenger suddenly had a seizure and fainted. The crew immediately used the loudspeaker to seek medical assistance, and at the same time performed first aid and provided oxygen to the passenger.
When the situation did not improve, the captain decided to turn the plane back to Hanoi and coordinate with the ground department to prepare an emergency rescue plan.
After landing safely, passengers were immediately taken to local medical facilities for further treatment. Flight VN661 then continued its journey safely to Singapore.
