According to forecasts, the circulation of storm No. 12 combined with cold air and East wind disturbances will cause widespread heavy rain in provinces and cities from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai. To proactively respond, Ke Go Lake and many large reservoirs in Ha Tinh are regulating overflow discharge.
Specifically, according to Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited Tran Manh Cuong, from 10:00 on October 21, the unit will operate to regulate water in Ke Go Lake (Cam Due Commune) through Doc Mieu spillway with a flow rate of 5 - 90 m3/second. Before the spillway discharge, the water level of Ke Go Lake was at 29.19m. The end time will depend on weather conditions and lake water levels.
Besides Ke Go lake, to proactively respond to the forecast of heavy rain caused by storm No. 10, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Limited Company will simultaneously operate spillway discharge at large reservoirs in the province, including: Boc Nguyen, Kim Son, and Thuong Song Tri.
While Kim Son Lake and Thuong Song Tri Lake will be overflowing from 8am on October 21, Boc Nguyen Lake will start regulating water from 10am on the same day with a flow rate of 5 - 110 m3/second.
Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Limited Company requested that downstream localities urgently notify, urge, and guide people to implement measures to ensure safety of life and property.
In addition to proactively releasing overflows from large reservoirs, the water levels of small reservoirs in the province have reached the spillway level and some have already exceeded the spillway. With the forecasted rainfall, the water levels of these reservoirs will increase and flow freely through the spillway with an expected flow rate of 1 - 50 m3/second.
