Dirty food information case in schools: Revealing the suppliers

In a report sent to the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat (Lam Dong Province), it was shown that there were 5 food suppliers for the boarding kitchen of Trung Vuong Primary School in the 2024 - 2025 school year, but it is not clear which unit brought dirty food into the kitchen.

On the afternoon of September 18, Ms. Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga, Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School, said that late in the afternoon of the same day, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat organized a meeting with many participants and functional agencies to consider and resolve the case of information shared on social networks accusing the supplier of repeatedly bringing dirty food into the kitchen of Trung Vuong Primary School. The incident has been causing a stir in Da Lat in the past few days.

Ms. Nga added that after social media spread information about dirty food being brought into the school's kitchen, in the past two days, more than 100 students were picked up by their parents to go home for lunch.

During the course of her work, when the reporter asked to publicly disclose the unit that had been providing food to the school in the past, Ms. Nga refused, saying that the police were investigating and collecting all documents and records related to the boarding school. She only said that this unit was in Duc Trong District (old).

However, in a report sent to the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, the Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School clearly stated that there are 5 food suppliers for the boarding kitchen in the 2024-2025 school year, including: Ms. NTB, residing on Dinh Cong Trang Street, Ward 7, Da Lat City (now Lang Biang Ward - Da Lat), Mr. NVL, residing on Phu Dong Thien Vuong Street, Ward 8, Da Lat City, Mr. NNQ, residing on Tran Dai Nghia Street, Ward 8, Da Lat City (now Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat), Ms. VTLM, residing on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Lien Nghia Town, Duc Trong District (now Duc Trong Commune) and KN Clean Food One Member Co., Ltd., located in Fi Nom Village, Hiep Thanh Commune, Duc Trong District (now Hiep Thanh Commune, Lam Dong ).

Lunch costs 30,000 VND/student including soup, fried eggs, minced meat (not including management and service fees)

The report clearly stated that "all suppliers have full food safety certificates and related documents". However, it did not specify what types of food the above suppliers provided, so it is still unclear which unit brought dirty food such as pork, beef, bones, shrimp, beef balls... into the kitchen as the complaint alleged.

Ms. Nga reported, "During the cooking process at school, the kitchen reported that some days the food showed unusual signs such as: boiled meat turned green, boiled shrimp turned black, beef was mixed with oil, beef balls showed signs of freezing, bones had an odor."

As Thanh Nien reported, on September 16, Lam Dong Provincial Police and authorities of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat went to Trung Vuong Primary School to verify information shared on social networks about the complaint that the principal had contracted with a supplier to repeatedly bring dirty food into the boarding kitchen.
